RONALDO TO LEAVE MADRID?
Just as Real Madrid finally look like winning something, it all turns sour.

As a few of the Sunday papers mentioned, rumours that Jose Mourinho will be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer have been joined by talk of his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo doing one as well.

According to the Mail, the Portuguese winger has had enough of the Madrid crowd questioning his attitude. They also say that Ronaldo misses Old Trafford and the warmth of father figure Sir Alex Ferguson. It all sounds very sweet, but where were the touching sentiments when he was desperate to leave?

And to make the situation even more complicated, Man City are probably the only team in the world that can afford him. Perfect.

KOLO TO ANZHI?
As January turns into February, it's usually a time for managers to sigh with relief, safe in the knowledge that none of their players will be leaving for another few months at least.

Well, that's not quite the case anymore, for The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester City fear moneybags Russian side Anzhi Mackachkala could sneak a cheeky bid for Kolo Toure.

The paper claims: 'The Russian outfit have made it clear they want to take the Manchester City star on loan with an option to buy in the summer.

'Having lost another of their targets, Chelsea defender Alex, to PSG Anzhi want to tie up a deal before the Russian transfer window closes on February 24.'

Kolo, along with brother Yaya, is of course currently in Equitorial Guinea with the Ivory Coast side, and doing very well indeed thank you.

DE ROSSI SIGNS NEW DEAL
More bad news for Manchester City, and indeed anyone interested in the feisty midfield stylings of Daniele de Rossi.

Roberto Mancini has long spoken of his admiration for the Roma midfielder, but speculated that he would never leave his boyhood club.

And he was quite right - De Rossi has signed a new contract at Roma, with his old one due to expire in the summer.

GOOD NEWS FOR ARSENAL
When talk of Barcelona sniffing around Robin van Persie emerged, Arsenal fans probably felt a severe sense of deja vu all over again.

However, it seems they're not keen.

"Nothing exists with RVP," explained Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu after Saturday's 2-1 win over Real Sociedad.

"It's rumours that appear in the papers. We've not contacted Arsenal, nor his agent.

"Our focus is now on the Liga and Copa del Rey.

"It's necessary to be focused on the task at hand and not be distracted by the transfer market."
