PEP TO REPLACE WENGER?
This is one that's been gathering pace for a while - with Ian McGarry telling anyone who will listen that Pep Guardiola is being lined up to replace Arsene Wenger. The pair are friends and McGarry claims the move would have the total blessing of the French incumbent.

But the Mail on Sunday paint a rather different picture, presumably because 'man hands over job to friend' is not a great story, so they claim: 'Arsene Wenger's 16-year reign as Arsenal manager is under increasing pressure after Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup fifth-round defeat at Sunderland - and the revelation that Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola could replace him in the summer.'

"I can't be at such a demanding club without being certain that I have the strength to do it." said Guardiola when asked on Saturday night about signing a new Barcelona contract. Because of cause Arsenal would not be a demanding club...

ARSENAL TO START PAYING PROPER WAGES...
According to the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal are finally going to scrap the wage policy that sees them pay no more than £100,000 per week to their star players. The first beneficiary of this new philosophy will be Robin van Persie, but joining him at the club could be targets like Edin Hazard of Lille and Mario Goetze of Borussia Dortmund.

Hmmm. We will believe it when we see it.

MODRIC TO MAN UNITED
'Luka Modric has turned his back on Chelsea - and will head to Manchester United if he moves this summer,' claims The People. This basically boils down to the Croat quite understandably saying that he's glad he did not leave Tottenham (currently third) for Chelsea (currently fifth) last summer and the suggestion is that he would prefer to move to Manchester United (second) if he does leave Tottenham this summer. Which he might not.
