WALCOTT/STURRIDGE SWAP DEAL
Why/how this would every happen is quite frankly beyond us, but The Sun are running with the story that Chelsea want Theo Walcott and are possibly willing to swap Daniel Sturridge.

It looks like a classic case of 2+2=A kiwi fruit to us. The logic behind the rumour is that Walcott - who has just a year left on his current deal - is attracting the interest of Chelsea, while Sturridge is unhappy that he's not yet been offered a new contract.

There's been a lot of talk this week of Sturridge looking to leave the Blues if they don't qualify for the Champions League, but if that's his main concern then Arsenal probably isn't the best club to join.

Scribe Charlie Wyett believes Arsene Wenger's hunt for a striker has progressed in the direction of Sturridge, but if any move is to happen it's likely the club will have to change their wage structure.

File this one under 'B', for 'BS', for 'Bullsh*t'.

CITY IN FOR HIGUAIN
Ah, this is a lot more likely. The Daily Mail are only running a short piece on Higuain to City, but it's a believable one.

The Argentine striker made just 25 appearances last season due to injury, and although he's featured more regularly this campaign, Mourinho's preferred choice in attack is Karim Benzema.

Higuain may be tempted with a move to City, although the Mail say Madrid will probably look to take either Kun Aguero or Carlos Tevez in exchange. Hopefully it's Tevez.

ARSENAL WANT OPARE
Arsenal's rebuilding begins - Wenger-style. In keeping with the usual philosophy, the Gunners have been linked with promising Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare as they look to strengthen for next season.

The boy's actually a bit handy, impressing for Standard Liege in the Belgian league and amassing seven caps for Ghana at just 21.

The Sun also point out that he was once on the books at Real Madrid before moving to Standard. Is he really the sort of player Arsenal need to move to the next level though? He might be a good prospect, but we thought that 'building for the future' thing hadn't really worked out.

LIVERPOOL IN FOR RAFFAEL
Quick line from SHOUTsport now, with the news that Liverpool want Hertha Berlin playmaker Raffael.

The good news is that the Brazilian midfielder has scored five goals this season and notched up six assists - not bad considering he's playing in a team who've spent most of the season flirting with relegation.

He's also going to cost a damn sight less than various other Liverpool signings, with a fee of around £7million mooted. The Reds have competition, though, in the form of Lazio and Sampdoria.

It looks a good move by Liverpool, and according to German newspaper Kicker, they've had several scouts tracking Raffael's progress.

Despite the fact that it's obviously not going to happen, I'm going to let myself imagine for a few days that we may just get Sturridge. Reality will come crashing in next time Sturridge logs on to Twitter, but until then...
