MAN CITY EYE STERLING MOVE
Man City are keeping tabs on Raheem Sterling as Liverpool try to negotiate a new contract with the winger.

According to The Mirror, the youngster's representatives are annoyed by Brendan Rodgers' claims that Sterling would be "very foolish" not to sign a new deal and have rejected claims the 17-year-old is holding out for £50,000 a week.

The Mirror report: 'They (Sterling's representatives) insist that no formal contract was put on the table in either of the two meetings that they had with Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre. The second meeting with Ayre came this week, but no offer was made.

'The Sterling camp were amazed when Liverpool manager Rodgers then went public in what could be seen as attempting to bully the teenager into signing.'

The Daily Mail claim City are keeping a close eye on negotiations and 'could consider launching a bid in January if the stand-off is not resolved by then'.

With Sterling now in the last 18 months of his contract, Liverpool will want to sort out his future one way or another.

UNITED TO SIGN LEWANDOWSKI
'Robert Lewandowski is heading Manchester United,' claim The Daily Mail.

Lewandowski has apparently told friends that his heart is set on a move to Old Trafford and Borussia Dortmund have reluctantly accepted that the striker will leave in the summer.

The Mail report: 'With his Dortmund deal running out at the end of next season, United hope the fee will be little more than the initial £12million they paid for his former team-mate Shinji Kagawa last summer.

'Sir Alex Ferguson believes pairing  24-year-old Lewandowski with Robin van Persie - and Wayne Rooney operating just behind - would give him the most lethal attack in the Premier League.'

Will Fergie ever sign a new midfielder?

ARSENAL PLOT REINA BID
According to The Sun, Arsenal are plotting a £10million January swoop for Pepe Reina, with Brendan Rodgers happy to let the keeper leave.

Reina has been an Arsenal target for several years and The Sun claim the Spaniard was 'furious' when Liverpool rejected a £20million bid from the Gunners in 2010.

"Arsenal offered £20m, a phenomenal amount for a goalkeeper," Reina said in his autobiography. "Part of me felt that I was well within my rights to consider my future.

"When Liverpool received the bid, they rejected it. I was told that my continued presence was crucial to the sale of the club. I was simply a bargaining chip in the sales process."

If Reina leaves, Rodgers has lined up Jack Butland, Asmir Begovic and Hannover's Ron-Robert Zieler as possible replacements.
