UNITED COULD LAND ZAHA
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are plotting a £10million January move for Crystal Palace whizz kid Wilfried Zaha.
The 20-year-old winger, who picked up his first England cap against Sweden, is also a reported target for Arsenal, but United have jumped to the front of the queue by allowing Palace to keep Zaha on loan for the rest of the season as part of their offer.
United agreed a similar deal with Fulham when they signed Chris Smalling in 2010 and Palace are thought to prefer the Reds' bid as it would enable them to keep their promotion push on track.
SPURS EYE LLORENTE
We usually roll our eyes when Spurs are linked with a striker because, after two years of reports linking the club with Loic Remy and Leandro Damiao, there really is no point in getting excited.
However, a story in The Sunday Mirror has got our attention, with news that Andre Villas-Boas is planning a £7million move for Fernando Llorente after the forward underlined his intention to leave Atheltic Bilbao.
The Spain international was Athletic's top scorer last season, but has been largely frozen out in the current campaign after expressing his desire to leave when his contract expires in the summer.
Spurs will apparently test the La Liga club's resolve to hold onto their star striker with a cut-price £7million bid in January, but they face stiff competition from Juventus for Llorente's signature.
Oh, and in case you missed it on Saturday, Spurs have also been linked with a £7.5million move for River Plate winger Carlos Sanchez. It looks like Villas-Boas will have money to spend in the transfer window.
LIVERPOOL PLOT MICHU SWOOP
We very much doubt that Liverpool believe they can sign Michu for just £7million in January, but The Sunday People claim the Reds have lined up a move for the Spaniard should they miss out on Daniel Sturridge.
Considering Michael Laudrup said Swansea would want twice the fee they received for Joe Allen if they were to sell Michu - so £30million - the People's story is clearly nothing more than a steaming heap of bulls**t.
But hey, who doesn't love a good rumour?
MAN CITY TARGET COLE
Quick line from The Sunday Express now, who claim Man City are tracking Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.
The England international is set to leave the Blues at the end of the season after negotiations over a new contract reached gridlock. That's the first time I've used the word gridlock in ages. It's a good'un, isn't it? Gridlock. Gridlock Gridlock.
Anyway, Cole has also been linked with a move to PSG to play under former boss Carlo Ancelotti but, with the Italian possibly facing the sack after recent results, City are set to jump in with an offer of their own.
ARSENAL PLOT MOVE FOR GUSTAVO
According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger is planning to solve Arsenal's slump with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Luis Gustavo.
The paper report: 'Wenger concedes he needs to strenghten his squad now, after they faded badly following a promising start to the season. And he has been impressed by 25-year-old Gustavo.
'The Brazilian has played twice for his country following his £12million move from Hoffenheim to Bayern Munich. But he has failed to establish a first-team spot with the Germans and is anxious to move.
'Wenger has been impressed by Gustavo and now wants to add him to his squad if he can agree a fee of around £10m.'
It seems unlikely that Bayern would be happy to make a loss on a valuable squad player who only joined the club two years ago.
