LAMPARD OFF OR NOT?
Quick one about Frank Lampard, whose agent was quoted on a slightly ropey Italian website as saying his man was definitely leaving Chelsea, and Lazio was a possible destination.

But lo! Turns out he never said them things.

Click here for some (admittedly scant) details.

QPR WERE OFFERED SNEIJDER
Sometimes Harry Redknapp just likes people to look at him.

Here's what he had to say about Wesley Sneijder:

"I was asked by one agent if I wanted to sign Sneijder. Of course I do.

"However, he's on about £200,000 a week and now he wants to join QPR? I won't name the agent, but let's just say I think a deal is unlikely."

VILLA IN FOR LESCOTT
Interesting line in The Daily Mirror, who report that Aston Villa could be the team for Joleon Lescott.

The defender is being edged out at Manchester City it seems, and Villa are thought to be keen on a permanent move for Lescott.

The paper reckons the fee for Lescott will be around £10million, but his wages could be a problem, not least because Randy Lerner is still looking to reduce the Villa wage bill. Everton and Sunderland are both apparently interested too.

Shay Given and Darren Bent are both available, it says here, while Alan Hutton could make his loan move to Nottingham Forest permanent.

INCE IN TALKS WITH BLACKPOOL
Ah, the fickle nature of football.

The Daily Mirror claims that Tom Ince and his dad (a chap named Paul) are talking to Blackpool to try and sort his move back to Liverpool.

Any move seems to have stalled slightly over a fee, but the paper reports:

'Ince and father Paul are in discussions with the Seasiders about thrashing out the fee and issues over a 10 per cent sell-on that are due to the young attacker.

'Liverpool have made an offer at £5 million and may go further, but talks between the clubs have been difficult in the past few weeks.'

ARSENAL CLEAR THE DECKS
Quick round up of players who might be leaving Arsenal in this here transfer window.

The Daily Express (and a few other places) reckon West Ham are in talks with Marouane Chamakh over a permanent move, while The Sun reckons Reading are keen too.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror reports that Lazio want Andrey Arshavin, and The Express says both Sebastian Squillaci and Johan Djourou will be off too.

AND ONE COMING IN...?
Quick one from Arsene Wenger, who says he has been watching Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby. Not in a weird way, like.

"We have looked at Holtby, and have played against him.

"Our scouts are kept on alert and the quality of the scouting is linked with that."

Holtby has of course announced that he will be leaving Schalke at the end of the season.

COLOCCINI GOING NOWHERE
This is a relief, because we like Fabricio Coloccini. There had been talk that his agent was in talks with San Lorenzo about taking him back to Argentina, but that is not true, as it turns out.

"The San Lorenzo thing arises because of a personal matter, and because his father is at the club," Marcelo Lombilla told Radio 9.

"He has only just renewed his contract six-months ago.

"These stories always generate a buzz and generate illusions, but they are just that illusions and nothing more.

"These things written I just cannot believe."
