LAMPARD TO EVERTON?
Frank Lampard will be 35 this summer but the Daily Star claim that Everton will offer him a three-year deal. That's a three-year deal that would take Lampard to the age of 38 as a Premier League player. We know he's in decent knack, but 38? Really?
Obviously this is in the Daily Star so we take it with a hefty handful of salt, but they seem pretty sure that 'David Moyes' club are willing to offer him a three-year deal on sliding-scale wages, if he agrees to stay within the pay structure, which has a top pay of around £80,000 a week'.
Manchester United, AC Milan, Paris St Germain and LA Galazy are also said to be interested and we suspect that they would all pay more than £80,000 a week.
WENGER LIKES WANYAMA...
Amongst the crowd at Celtic Park on Tuesday night was an interested observer from Arsenal, apparently sent by Arsene Wenger to provide a detailed report on midfielder Victor Wanyama. They might have been quite impressed with the Kenyan, who was one of Celtic's better performers in their 3-0 defeat.
The Daily Telegraph claims that 'Wenger failed with a deadline bid for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue' but is actively looking at other targets to fill the role of defensive midfielder vacated by Alex Song in the summer.
BENTLEY BACK TO ROVERS?
It went well for him during his first spell at Blackburn so forgotten man David Bentley could be on his way back to Ewood Park, with Michael Appleton apparently confiring that the Tottenham misfit is 'one of three or four players he hopes to bring in now the loan window has re-opened'.
