RONALDO MOVE 'POSSIBLE'
We'd introduce this with the caveat that it's pure speculation on the part of The Daily Mail, but what stuff in the Gossip Column isn't pure speculation? Clue's in the title, really.

The Daily Mail reports that the good people at Manchester United are growing increasingly confident that they can lure Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.

Apparently there is a 'growing belief' that United can make the move happen, however unlikely it may seem.

The paper claims: 'United, Sportsmail understands, have already launched what amounts to a feasibility study to see if they could finance the biggest player purchase in their history - one Ferguson estimates would run into 'hundreds of millions'...

'If - and it remains a significant if - Ronaldo leaves the Bernabeu before his contract runs out in 2015, United believe it would come down to a straight choice between them and Paris Saint-Germain and he would choose Old Trafford.

'Manchester City cannot be discounted but United have first option to buy under the terms of his transfer to Madrid in 2009 and most of that world-record fee remains unspent. They could expect to pay around £60m to buy Ronaldo back because, although he has taken his game to new heights in Spain, he is now 28 and has just over two years left on his contract in Madrid.'

But would United be better off spending their money on Gareth Bale?

SUAREZ WOULD LISTEN TO BAYERN
Interesting words from Luis Suarez, who is quoted in The Metro as saying:

"If Bayern Munich makes an offer I would certainly be willing to listen and think about it.

"It doesn't mean I will definitely leave, it just means that I will not automatically reject other clubs."

Interesting. It seems these links have come about due to Guardiola's brother Pere being Suarez's agent. 2+2=5 stuff? We have no idea.

A bit more here.

CAVANI HOPES FADE
It seems that the prospect of Edinson Cavani joining Manchester City this summer are fading somewhat.

The Daily Mail claims City will be gazumped by Real Madrid, who have 'stepped up' their bid to bring the big Uruguayan to Spain.

Apparently Cavani's people have already 'opened talks' with Real about a big money summer move. The player has a £52million release clause in his contract. PSG are also keen, it says here.

CLARKE WANTS TO KEEP LUKAKU
Steve Clarke would very much like to keep Romelu Lukaku at West Brom, and understandably so.

He's quoted as saying in The Sun: "It's something that will come up for discussion in the summer.

"Chelsea are his parent club, he is their player and they will decide what they want to do first and foremost.

"Then, after that, hopefully we will get a chance to put ourselves in the hat.

"If Chelsea want to leave him out for another season somewhere, I think we would have a strong chance of getting him back here but it is a discussion for the summer."
