CHELSEA TO MAKE NEW ROONEY BID
Chelsea are, according to The Daily Express, set to make a new £28million bid for Wayne Rooney.
Right, now we've got that out of the way, we can mention a few more interesting rumours in the papers this morning.
UNITED TURN ATTENTIONS TO SHAW
While a few papers report that Manchester United are still keen on Leighton Baines, The Daily Express has a more forward-thinking suggestion.
Specifically, Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, who is allegedly 18, but has the maturity and assurance of someone twice that age.
The Express reports: 'Shaw signed a five-season contract at Southampton in the summer and starred in the opening-weekend victory over West Brom to underline his importance to the Saints, who do not need to sell.
'But the teenager, who is rated at about £10million, has come under renewed scrutiny by United in the past few days after a joint £28m bid - rising to £30m - for Baines, and his club-mate Marouane Fellaini, was dismissed as "derisory and insulting" by the Goodison Park club.'
We'd hazard a guess that United won't get him for £10million, but what do we know?
IT'S ARSENAL v MONACO FOR KONDOGBIA
Blimey. Arsenal haven't exactly fared well in bidding wars this summer when they've been against normal clubs, but vs Monaco...yikes.
Sticking with the Express, that paper reports that both Monaco and Arsenal are in for Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Apparently Monaco have already made a £13million bid for the Frenchman, who will probably not be allowed to leave for less than his £17million buyout clause.
Oh, and Juventus are thought to be keen too.
Good luck, Arsene.
NEWCASTLE ALREADY SPENDING THE CABAYE MONEY
Interesting line in The Daily Mirror, who report that Newcastle already seem to be spending the money for Yohan Cabaye.
The paper claims Alan Pardew wants Blackpool winger Tom Ince, who is valued at £8million.
Of course, Pardew has said Newcastle don't need any more wingers and the story also suggests Spurs are keen, which given the bigger fish they're frying seems unlikely, so treat this with the requisite etc and so on.
