MORE THAN ONE FOR BALE
As we type, Sky Sports News tell us that Tottenham are considering 'more than one' bid for Gareth Bale.
It's Arsenal, isn't it?
WHERE'S ROONEY GOING?
There are a couple of answers to that question in the morning papers, and let us start in the most reliable and august of them all - The Daily Star.
That paper believes Rooney could still be off to Arsenal, who are in the market for a striker, particularly after Karim Benzema's agent seemed to rule out his man moving to the Emirates.
The Star reports: 'There is growing confidence at the Emirates that the Gunners can hijack Chelsea's bid to sign the Manchester United man.
'Rooney has re-emerged as Wenger's top target as he tries to capture at least four players before Monday's deadline.'
Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror says Chelsea still want Rooney, despite also sniffing around Samuel Eto'o.
The Mirror claims: 'If Chelsea fail to sign Rooney this summer, they will return for him in January, and then again next summer if necessary.'
ALSO, the Mirror reckons United could set aside plans to move for Leighton Baines in order to concentrate on Marouane Fellaini.
ARSENAL IN FOR OZIL?
Moving back to Arsenal briefly, there are a couple of theories about players they're interested in knocking around.
The Sun reports that Arsene Wenger 'is considering a £38million move for Real Madrid's Mesut Ozil.'
Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror informs us that Newcastle have told the Gooners that they must pay £20million for Yohan Cabaye.
They quote Joe Kinnear as saying: "We've told Arsenal our terms, the ball is in their court."
The Mirror also cites reports in Spain that suggest Arsenal have made a £26million bid for Angel di Maria.
HULK A TARGET FOR SPURS
Back to Spurs now, and Andre Villas-Boas has seemingly decided that he simply must have a Brazilian plying his trade in Russia.
And his second-choice after Willian appears to be Hulk, the Zenit St Petersburg forward, for whom The Daily Mirror reports Spurs 'are preparing a monster £30million bid'.
The paper also reports that Erik Lamela is on his way to England to seal a move from Roma, with Spurs having agreed a £26million deal with the Italian club.
Spurs have also sorted a deal for Steaua Bucharest Vlad Chiriches.
LIVERPOOL MOVE FOR MOSES
Interesting line in The Daily Mail, who report that Liverpool are in the market for one Victor Moses, as they look for a new winger.
The paper claims Brendan Rodgers wants Moses on a season-long loan deal, but finances could be a problem.
The Mail reports: 'Chelsea want a £2million loan fee for the 22-year-old, but Liverpool will try to secure his release on reduced terms. Moses earns £55,000 a week at Chelsea and Liverpool are reluctant to match that.'
Apparently Brendan 'hopes his long-standing relationship with Mourinho will help steer the deal in Liverpool's direction this week.'
