Chelsea on 'red alert' for Rooney, Carvalho for United, Toivonen for Liverpool and Ince/Lamela Spurs nonsense...
SPURS IN FOR HERNANDEZ
Right, couple of crackers to get you going this morning in this here Gossip Column.
The Daily Mirror reports that, along with Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Vlade Chiriches, Spurs want to sign Javier Hernadez. Or Chicharito to those who only look at the back of his shirt.
The paper reckons Spurs have approached Manchester United about the wee Mexican, who apparently isn't getting close to the first team under David Moyes.
The Mirror reports: 'Villas-Boas knows he needs a new finisher and there are few better than the man known as Chicharito, whose record is excellent despite his frequent spells out of United's starting XI.
'Spurs could sell Jermain Defoe before the window shuts - the England striker is being chased by several clubs, who are ready to bid if they encouraged.
'Hernandez would be a more-than-adequate replacement and would fit in with their style, and help ease the demands of a busy season at home and abroad.
'United are not pushing out the Mexico international, who has never given them any trouble, but a sizeable bid may see his spell at Old Trafford end.'
£15million the price, apparently.
KAGAWA OFF TO ATLETI?
Another to make Manchester United fans fret, The Daily Mail reckons Atletico Madrid will 'offer an escape route' to Shinji Kagawa.
Apparently the Spanish side would like to take the Japanese playmaker on loan, on the assumption that United will actually want to get rid, which is quite the assumption.
Borussia Dortmund want him back too, apparently.
Back to transfer stories you already know about now.
The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United have 'raised their offer' for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini to around £38million, in the hope that Everton will be swayed.
The paper claims: 'The Goodison club have yet to reject this fresh move for midfielder Fellaini and England left-back Baines - and insiders have predicted they WILL sell Fellaini before the weekend.'
Meanwhile, The Sun reckons Baines will tell/already has told Everton that he wants to leave, although Roberto Martinez has denied that. Believe what you like, really.
UNITED COULD GO BACK IN FOR CESC
Silly stuff from The Sun, who go relatively big with the 'news' that Manchester United might make another bid for Cesc Fabregas in January.
That's if he isn't getting regular games for Barcelona.
Ah, just let this transfer window finish before we get to the next one, eh?
