ARSENAL IN FOR BENZEMA, DI MARIA AND OZIL
Tick tock, Arsene.
Arsenal only have a few more days to buy some players, and The Daily Mail reckons they have big plans.
The paper reports Arsenal want to spend £70million on Real Madrid trio Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria.
Yikes. The paper claims: 'Despite all three players insisting they want to stay at the Bernabeu, Real will listen to offers for the trio as they look to balance the books after committing £86million to signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham....
'However, there are fears within the corridors of power at the Emirates that they will not be able to land any of the high- profile targets before Monday's deadline - a possibility that will anger supporters. A summer that promised so much has produced very little and manager Arsene Wenger is facing a make-or-break four days.
Who thinks the former paragraph is more likely to happen than the latter?
Meanwhile, The Daily Express reports Arsenal have made an £8.5million bid for St Etienne midfielder Josuha Guilavogui.
BOY FOR SALE! BOY FOR SALE!
Hey, anyone want a Fernando Torres? Not as good as he used to be, but yours for a bargain price.
The Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea are ready to sell their striker after the arrival of Samuel Eto'o.
The paper claims: 'Now, despite Demba Ba being linked with a return to Newcastle, Chelsea are ready to listen to offers for Torres, who was signed from Liverpool for a British record £50million two years ago.
'Spanish sides are aware of his availability, with the 29-year-old having fallen down the pecking order following Eto'o's arrival.'
The paper doesn't mention any specific potential suitors - anyone care to wildly and irresponsibly speculate?
UNITED BID REJECTED
Well, it looks like this one isn't any closer to completion.
The Daily Express reports that Everton have rejected another bid from Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.
The paper reckons United shoved £36million across the table and asked what Everton thought of those apples, but apparently Everton believed the apples to be not quite tasty enough, and pushed the money/apples back.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail tells us that Fellaini has told Roberto Martinez that he wants to leave, and sharpish too.
Liverpool need a centre-back, but according to The Daily Mirror it isn't going to happen easily.
The paper reports that Brendan Rodgers wants one of Tiago Ilori and Mamadou Sakho, but their respective clubs are demanding big money for their men.
Apparently Sporting Lisbon and PSG want £17m and £13m respectively for the defenders, prices that Liverpool are not particularly keen to pay.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool want Shay Given to understudy Simon Mignolet.
