SPURS TO KEEP SPENDING
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs will launch another spending spree in January to boost their top-four challenge.
Spurs splashed out around £108m on new faces in the summer, but their net spend stands at just £2m after Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in a world-record £85m deal.
Daniel Levy is now preparing to hand more funds to Andre Villas-Boas, who has made Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao his top target.
The Portuguese defender was close to joining Manchester United in a season-long loan on deadline day, but it seems Spurs are now set to pounce when the window re-opens.
'(Villas-Boas) has also asked his scouting network to identify strikers ahead of January, which could place further question marks on Jermain Defoe's future,' report the Mail.
'Defoe has been forced to play second fiddle to new £26m striker Roberto Soldado during the start of the season. Yet he has still scored four goals, albeit all in the Europa League.'
LIVERPOOL EYE HERNANDEZ
Liverpool could add another striker to their ranks in January, with Luis Suarez's international teammate Abel Hernandez linked with a move to Anfield.
The Uruguayan hitman currently plays for Palermo, but he is keen to leave the club following their relegation from Serie A last season.
There was talk of Arsenal making a bid for Hernandez on deadline day and the 23-year-old is reportedly available for around £4million.
Hernandez said at the end of the summer window: "The club and the coach told me that I could leave if the right offer was made and I think that has now arrived.
"They know what I want and they know what they promised me. I don't want to lose the chance of playing at the World Cup next summer.
"I think playing in Serie A is beautiful, but the desire to be at World Cup 2014 is what has pushed me to ask for a transfer."
ARSENAL BATTLE JUVE FOR DRAXLER
Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with Juventus in the race to sign German wunderkind Julian Draxler, according to the Sun.
'The Schalke starlet - 20 yesterday - is a long-term target for Arsene Wenger and is also on the radar for Chelsea and Manchester City,' claim the Sun.
'But Juve are now frontrunners after sending scouts to watch the midfielder score for Schalke in their Champions League win over Steaua Bucharest.'
Arsenal were linked with a late move for Draxler in August, but apparently Juventus have stolen a march on the competition by preparing a £34m bid for the midfielder.
That may still not be enough, however, with Schalke general manager Horst Heldt insisting only an enormous offer would tempt Schalke to sell.
REDKNAPP WANTS ADEBAYOR
Harry Redknapp is eyeing a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor following injuries to Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson.
"Every club needs two or three strikers, you can't survive with one. That's obvious," the QPR manager told Sky Sports.
"I would love Manny here but I couldn't see him dropping down to the Championship.
"You never know. If he would we'd love to have him, but it would be difficult."
It'll be interesting to see how the Rs afford the striker's £100,000-a-week contract.
