LIVERPOOL EYE PASTORE
Ooh, this is interesting. According to the Metro, Liverpool are lining up a January move for PSG playmaker Javier Pastore.
The Argentine joined PSG for £37m in 2011 and grabbed 16 goals in his first season before playing an important role in PSG's title victory last year. However, Pastore has reportedly grown unhappy with life in France and is now looking to leave.
'The 24-year-old was linked with a move away over the summer, but said at the time he wanted to prove himself to new manager Laurent Blanc,' report the Metro.
'However, after a difficult start to the season, Pastore's agent says the pass-master is unhappy with Ligue 1 and may leave.
'"In football there are always ups and downs,' said Marcelo Simonian.
'"He has been happy there, but now is not the time for nostalgia. We will see what happens in the next few months."'
It's thought that Liverpool will have to pay around £17m to capture Pastore, with Brendan Rodgers still eyeing a new number 10 after failed moves for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Willian in the summer.
SPURS TRACK CRISCITO
Spurs are set to duke it out with Internazionale for Domenico Criscito after the Zenit left-back recovered from a knee ligament injury.
TalkSPORT claim that Andre Villas-Boas weighed up a move for the 26-year-old in the summer but decided to hold off making a bid until January.
Criscito has been capped 20 times by Italy and would provide experienced competition for Danny Rose after Benoit Assou-Ekotto was loaned to QPR for the season.
Spurs are also believed to be plotting a move for Anderlecht wonderkid Youri Tielemans. The 16-year-old midfielder has already represented Belgium at Under-21 level and would cost around £1m.
EVERTON PLAN GUARDADO BID
After completing some shrewd business in the summer, Roberto Martinez is planning to bolster his squad even further with a move for Valencia winger Andres Guardado.
The Mexico international would aid a move to the manager's preferred 3-5-2 formation and is likely to cost around £6m.
'According to Valencia Plaza, winger Andres Guardado has been highlighted as a priority signing to help reinforce the team's attacking prowess,' report the Daily Star.
'Porto were also interested in the Mexican international, but failed in their own late bid during the summer deadline day.'
