Ashley Young and Anderson first out in January, Falcao for Chelsea and Lassana Diarra for Arsenal or City...
CITY & ARSENAL SCRAP OVER LEWANDOWSKI
The smart money is still on Robert Lewandowski joining Bayern Munich when his contract expires next summer, despite his teasing quotes about liking England very much the other week.
Still, there doesn't seem to be much smart money at The Sunday Mirror, who claim that Manchester City and Arsenal are the teams duking it out for the big Pole's scribble.
The paper claims: 'City have been alerted by Lewendowski's claim that his proposed move to Bayern Munich when his contract expires next summer is not a done deal.
'Etihad boss Manuel Pellegrini may even be prepared to sacrifice Edin Dzeko in a swap deal for the 25-year-old Pole if City are given further encouragement by the player.
'Arsenal remain cash rich and keen to sign a world class striker. The Gunners are prepared to pay £25million to land Lewandowski in the January window before he becomes a free agent next summer.'
Can anyone see Arsene Wenger, flush as he is, paying £25million for a Champions League-tied striker he could potentially get for free (or at least much less) six months later? But we supposed nobody really saw him paying £45million for anyone before the summer, so all bets etc.
Meanwhile, The Sunday People throws Manchester United and Chelsea into the mix as potential suitors for Lewandowski.
ARSENAL IN FOR BENZEMA?
Here's French agent Francois Gallardo saying things about Karim Benzema:
"A very important Premier League club is after Karim,' Gallardo told Le Sport 10.
"This club wants the transfer to happen this winter, but if this is not possible, then next summer at the latest.
"The offer will be around €50million [£43million]."
The Metro fingers Arsenal as the interested club. We refer you to above comments about expensive, Champions League-tied strikers. Without the 'free in six months' bit, obviously.
RONALDO TAKING FRENCH LESSONS
The Sun on Sunday claim Critiano Ronaldo is taking French lessons.
This is because he is 'preparing for a move to PSG', apparently.
He might just be trying to improve himself, chaps. Or perhaps he wants to read Proust in the original language. Or fully appreciate Belle de Jour.
CITY IN FOR POGBA
Ooooh, cheeky Manchester City.
According to The Daily Star Sunday (which we should really note is a stupid name for a newspaper) and The Sun on Sunday (slightly less so), City want to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.
However, they'll have a job convincing Juve to sell up, apparently, with a price of around £40million mentioned.
Still, getting an excellent player and thoroughly pissing off the chaps down the road...it might just be worth it.
@crowsy You don't get how the transfer gossip page works, do you?- armadillo
