CAPEL TO LIVERPOOL?
He's long been linked with Liverpool but Arsenal and Tottenham were also cited in yesterday afternoon's A Bola as possible suitors for Sporting Lisbon's Spanish winger Diego Capel in January. But The Sun and the Daily Mirror both agree on Thursday morning that Liverpool are the most likely suitors, having expressed an interest in the summer. The price is thought to be somewhere between £5m and £6m as the Portuguese club are desperate to get his wages off the books.

Separate reports say that Raheem Sterling has been warned that he must start working hard if he wants to become a regular at Anfield. These new Capel reports should provide a kick up the arse.

YOUNG FACING FIGHT
'A fight for his Manchester United future,' are the words in the Daily Mirror, who claim that Ashley Young has been warned once again by David Moyes about diving after his latest theatrical fall earned United a penalty against Real Sociedad on Tuesday.

'The former Watford and Aston Villa winger's future with the Old Trafford giants was already shrouded in doubt because of a loss of form, and this latest incident has not done his cause any good,' the report continues. Could he be sold in January? Who would want him? Liverpool need wingers...

MORENO TO REPLACE EVRA AT UNITED?
This one comes to us via the Daily Express website but its origins are in Spain as Estadio Deportivo claim that Manchester United are ready to compete with Real Madrid and Chelsea to sign Alberto Moreno, Sevilla's 21-year-old left-back who has just been capped by Spain. The bad news is that he has a £25m release clause. United will presumably offer £29m.

The Spanish newspaper claims to know a fair amount about United's likely January dealings with Real Sociedad's Antoine Griezmann and Porto pair Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi all mentioned as possible targets.

'Tactically Inept And Lacking In Belief And Style'

It's fair to say that the 'Moyes Out' brigade is understandably out in force, whilst there are also staunch defences of Mourinho and Arteta. Plus, Liverpool fans can almost taste it.

That's Why We Didn't Want Jose At United

There is plenty of reaction to Mourinho's antics (Isn't that exactly what he wanted?) plus thoughts on Connor Wickham, Fabio Borini, beach balls and Tim Sherwood...
