Well, this is...odd. According to the Daily Express, Barcelona are plotting a January move for Dimitar Berbatov, who has been quite dreadful for Fulham this season.

'Berbatov has emerged as a surprise target for Spanish giants Barcelona with manager Gerardo Martino intrigued by the technique and experience of the former Manchester United and Tottenham striker,' report the Express.

'Reports in Spain suggest that Barca are contemplating adding short-term cover for the injured Lionel Messi and Berbatov's name is on the list.'

Berbatov is out of contract at the end of the season and Barca apparently believe they can snap him up for next to nothing to provide short-term cover.

Arsenal are set to rival Spurs' long-term interest in Dinamo Zagreb youngster Alen Halilovic, according to the Express.

Spurs were thought to be close to agreeing a deal for Halilovic in the summer, but a potential move fell through following reports that his father blocked the transfer after demanding guarantees over playing time.

'And reports suggest that that has given Arsenal hope that they may yet be able to snatch Halilovic out from under their north London rivals' nose,' claim the Express.

'The Gunners...remain optimistic that Arsene Wenger's reputation for youth development could yet swing a deal in Arsenal's favour.'

Fulham might have to reconsider their canteen budget after the Manchester Evening News linked them with a January move for Anderson.

The Manchester United midfielder has struggled for playing time under new manager David Moyes and is being lined up for a move to Craven Cottage by new Fulham head coach Rene Meulensteen, who is reportedly a fan of the Brazilian following their time together at Old Trafford.
