Liverpool chase Adriano and Menez, Man United plan new deal for David De Gea, De Jong wants Toon stay and more...
ASHLEY YOUNG AND ANDERSON...
...will head the January clear-out at Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror. The pair have failed to convince David Moyes (or indeed anybody else) and will be offloaded in January if they can find buyers. Both will be sent out on loan if no buyers can be found. One thing's for sure - United are going to have to swallow massive losses on a pair of players that cost the best part of £40m. Alex Buttner will also leave if United can bring in a left-back, while there are 'question marks' over Javier Hernandez, who is being linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is apparently on a list of potential incomings as well as Leighton Baines.
CHELSEA WANT FALCAO ON LOAN
Jose Mourinho claims he will not buy a striker (why would he? His three strikers have scored four of their 28 PL goals this season) in January but reports continue to link the Blues with Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, apparently unhappy at earning just under €7m a year after tax at Monaco. Apparently he expected much, much more.
Mourinho watched Falcao last month as Colombia took on Belgium but he will face competition from Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti also said to be keen on Falcao, who could be football's hottest property in January as he is eligible to play in the Champions League.
DIARRA BACK AGAIN?
We'd kind of forgotten where he was now (Lokomotiv Moscow) but we do remember he was with Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth and we always quite liked him. Reports in Russia suggest that Arsenal and Manchester City have both enquired about bringing him back to the Premier League in January, but we suspect that the Gunners will not fancy matching his quite-considerable wages simply to provide competition for Mathieu Flamini.
Elsewhere, in The Sun, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all said to be chasing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who is just 18 years old
