United in for Bundesliga pair Draxler and Reus, Chelsea to be offered Mario Mandzukic and Cole to Real Madrid...
REAL CONFIDENT ON SUAREZ
The London Evening Standard goes big on Luis Suarez to Real Madrid, their man in Madrid (Martin Del Palacio) claiming that the Spanish giants are 'convinced' they will get their man.
The report also makes a good deal of other claims, including:
1) Madrid believe that Suarez is 'very motivated' to join
2) They would prefer a deal to be completed before the World Cup
3) Suarez has an agreement with Liverpool to leave
We'd say it's all pretty ballsy without quotes.
GUNDOGAN AVAILABLE FOR £25M?
Ilkay Gundogan is the sort of player you would imagine that clubs would be climbing over each other to sign, and quotes from Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke in the Daily Star this morning look likely to set mouths-a-frothing.
"It is our absolute desire that besides Robert Lewandowski no other regular player leaves the club," Watzke said.
"With Ilkay Gundogan, we do not yet know how it will turn out. We would love to extend [a contract] with him."
That would surely alert Manchester United (their central midfield has received some stick of late), Chelsea and Arsenal, along with every other club with money in Europe.
One spanner in the works: Real Madrid are potentially in pole position after loaning Nuri Sahin back to Dortmund for this season.
HERRERA SAYS HE'S STAYING PUT
Talking of Manchester United buying central midfielders, and it appears that Athletic Bilbao star Ander Herrera, subject of reported interest and a botched agent visit from United in the summer, is going nowhere.
How do we know? Well, the player said so, and so says the Daily Mirror.
"I appreciate both Manchester United's interest in me and the fact that I am considered so important to Athletic that they did not accept any bid for me.
"That means that Athletic values me above money and trust in me more than money for our current project. I'm right where I want to be. I'm not a player who wants to change teams, I've taken root at Athletic and it is the perfect place for me to be."
NO JANUARY MOVE FOR ARSENAL TARGET
Despite the phenomenal goalscoring exploits of N-Ben on Wednesday evening, it does appear that Arsene Wenger does still rather want a striker in January to cement their title bid.
Talk that Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata may be that man have been slightly dampened, however, with coach Carlo Ancelotti effectively ruling out a move before the summer.
"Morata stays because we need him. It's true that he has not played many games but we have every confidence in him," Ancelotti is quoted as saying by the Metro.
"It could be at the end of the season that he is not happy and we can think about letting him go but we need him now."
