As you might imagine, there are various theories in various papers about who will replace Andre Villas-Boas at Tottenham.

The most popular one seems to be that while Tim Sherwood has been given the gig on a temporary basis, he could get it permanently if things go well over the coming weeks and months.

The Daily Mail reports: 'Sportsmail understands the former Spurs midfielder, whose coaching is highly rated by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, has been told he has a chance to make the job his own...

'Following yesterday's sacking, the Spurs board held a series of meetings which resulted in Sherwood's appointment as an interim replacement after deciding their long-term targets would not be readily available.'

Fabio Capello is the bookies' favourite, but that reeks of 2+2=5ism after he was at the game on Sunday, and is pals with Franco Baldini. If Spurs were to actually bring him in, they would probably have to wait until after the World Cup, when his Russia duties are done.

The Daily Mirror also mentions Frank de Boer and Jurgen Klinsmann, The Guardian thinks Mauricio Pochettino and Murat Yakin are in the frame, while The Times and The Daily Mail think Cesare Prandelli has a chance, with both papers also mentioning Luis Enrique as well.

Finally, The Daily Express claims that Glenn Hoddle 'was immediately heralded as a fans' favourite'.

Not the Spurs fans we've been talking to, that's for sure.
