SOLSKJAER FOR WEST BROM?
Let us start the day with some manager talk, and The Daily Mirror reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for talks with West Brom.

The paper claims that Solskjaer, currently manager of Molde, is 'expected to discuss the Baggies vacancy today as Norwegian side Molde clear his exit.'

Apparently the former Manchester United striker turned down the Legia Warsaw job recently, in favour of a return to England.

And the Mirror quotes Molde chief executive Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen as saying: "I can confirm that we have received formal requests, but will not say when they arrived or where they came from.

"Ole has a name that will always make him attractive. And he has a standing in England that makes him often a candidate there."

"Ole has won three titles (including a cup) in three years with Molde.

"It is obvious that this can be good timing for him if he wants to further his career."

DE BOER AND HIDDINK TURN DOWN SPURS
Also in the Mirror is word that a couple of Tottenham's targets for their top gig have said 'no dice', too.

The paper reports that Frank de Boer is Franco Baldini's first choice, while Guus Hiddink is also on their list, leading one to think that there isn't really any clear and consistent thinking about what sort of manager they want, unless their key criteria is 'Dutch'.

Anyway, the paper says Hiddink has said nope, not on your nelly, while De Boer doesn't seem particularly keen either.

De Boer's agent Guido Albers said: "Through a number of sources it has become clear to me Spurs are interested, but that club haven't contacted Ajax so far.

"So we can't say much about it now. Frank isn't thinking about it. He is fully focused on Ajax."

SNEIJDER WILL TAKE A PAYCUT FOR UNITED
Ah, this again.

You'll have seen variants on this story a number of times before, but The Sun reports that Wesley Sneijder is very keen indeed to leave Galatasaray for Manchester United.

So much so that he'll take a £1million-a-year paycut in order to force the move through.

Yeah. OK.

ARSENAL SCOUTING COSTA
Quick line from The Daily Telegraph, who report that Arsenal are taking a long, hard, possibly longing look at Diego Costa.

But don't get too excited, Gooners, for it seems even they don't think they can get the Brazilian Spaniard.

However, the paper claims they 'remain doubtful about their prospects of signing the Atletico Madrid striker in January.'

The Telegraph reports: 'Costa's brilliant start to the season has alerted interest in his situation but he has been watched by Arsenal since last season and it is understood that there would be a reluctance to immediately stretch to a buyout clause which is reportedly in excess of £30 million.'

PARDEW DENIES ZAHA INTEREST
Newcastle have been the club credited with the most interest in taking Wilfried Zaha on loan, but not if Alan Pardew's words on the subject are anything to go by.

The Daily Mirror quotes him as saying: "He was phenomenal when they got promoted last season, but his career has maybe stalled a little. Maybe he'll get an opportunity there."

So there.
