SUAREZ CAN LEAVE FOR £120MILLION
There have been plenty of rumours about Liverpool inserting a release clause in Luis Suarez's new contract and the papers have finally put a number on those reports.
According to The Sun: 'Ian Rush last night claimed Luis Suarez has a whopping £120million get-out clause in his new deal.
'Liverpool legend Rush, now a Kop ambassador, admitted the striker could leave for a world-record fee if the Reds do not finish in the top four.
'He said: "If we don't qualify for the Champions League he can leave provided a club make an offer according to the player's value.
"When we renewed Luis' contract we put in a clause of £120m. If Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid for £86m, why should we not ask more for Suarez?"
He might be enjoying an incredible season, but is Suarez really worth that amount? We can't see anyone stretching to £120million in the summer.
WEST HAM PLOT LAMBERT MOVE
According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham are set to turn to Rickie Lambert in their search for a new striker.
The Hammers have mustered only 18 goals in 19 matches so far after losing Andy Carroll to an ankle injury, and find themselves in 19th at the half-way stage.
'West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is making a staggering £8million bid for Southampton's England striker Rickie Lambert,' report the Mirror.
'Allardyce is being backed by owners David Sullivan and David Gold who are prepared to gamble a fortune on a hit man to keep them up.'
It's thought that the Saints are tempted to cash in on the striker, who turns 32 in February, while Lambert would be offered the incentive of a bigger pay packet at Upton Park.
Meanwhile, TalkSPORT claim the Hammers could make a move for Brazilian forward Leo Baptistao, who has been told he can leave Atletico Madrid on loan.
LIVERPOOL CONTINUE SALAH CHASE
Liverpool are plotting a move for Basel winger Mohamed Salah, but claims that a £7million fee has been agreed are wide of the mark.
According to the Liverpool Echo: 'The Reds have held initial talks with the Swiss outfit but the ECHO understands that any potential deal for the Egypt international remains some way off.
'There has been intense speculation in his homeland that Salah would arrive on Merseyside later this week to undergo a medical and pen a five-year deal.'
Liverpool are expected to face stiff competition for Salah's signature while a move for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello is also on hold.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror are reporting that Rodgers has agreed a first option deal with Derby for Will Hughes.
According to the Mirror: 'The Kop chief has agreed to let England under-21 defender Andre Wisdom go to Derby on loan for the rest of the season.
'And as part of the transfer Liverpool have an agreement with Derby that they get the option to buy Hughes when the Rams decide to sell.'
