ARSENAL IN FOR BERBA...?
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! The transfer window is open again! That means all of this bullsh*t we've been churning out for the last four months has been worthwhile! We have a purpose again! Be still our beating hearts.
Let's kick off with a tale from The Sun, which claims that Arsenal are keen on one Dimitar Berbatov.
In fact, not only does the paper claim Arsenal are keen on Berba to boost their attacking options for the second half of the season, but that the Gooners are 'closing in' on the languid Bulgarian, and might get him for £2million.
AND REMY TOO?
Meanwhile, The Times speculates that Loic Remy could arrive at Arsenal too.
The paper claims the Frenchman 'could spark interest in his services' after claiming he didn't know whether he would go back to QPR once his loan at Newcastle ends.
They quote him as saying: "Honestly, I do not know what I'll do. QPR will perhaps keep me next season but what I want is to play in the Champions League."
UNITED IN FOR VIDAL?
Well, this would do wonders for Manchester United's midfield problems, but we're afraid this looks like something of a long shot, United fans.
The Daily Mirror reports that David Moyes is considering a bid for Juventus' Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The paper claims: 'The Chile international has been one of the many names mooted with a move to Old Trafford to help bolster the champions flaky midfield.
'The 26-year-old has long stated his desire to stay in Turin, but according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport may be persuaded to change his mind with extremely lucrative personal terms.
'It would still be something of a coup if boss David Moyes managed to pull off the deal, Vidal having only signed a new deal at the club last month.'
Getting Juve to sell would be an even bigger challenge, one suspects.
WHAT'S A MATA YOU, JOSE?
How 'bout Jose Mourinho and Juan Mata, eh?
Here's what Jose said about the prospect of Mata leaving Chelsea:
"I want to keep him. I don't want him to go. That is my opinion, my wish, but my door is open.
"The club's door is open too so when a player wants to speak to us we are there waiting for them.
"If you are asking do you want the club to sell him? I don't want to."
And here's what he said about Michael Essien, who could also leave this month:
"I offer nobody - not Michael, not nobody (guaranteed playing time).
"I understand that players think about national team, the World Cup and playing regularly, but my players have to think of the team before the players. Michael knows that perfectly."
