A QUEUE FORMS FOR MATA
There's a list of suitors for Juan Mata, apparently not needed by Jose Mourinho, in The Daily Mirror this morning.

The paper reports that Rafa Benitez is at the head of said line, with Napoli keen to take Mata to Italy this month.

The Mirror claims: 'Sources close to Mata are adamant he will not push for a move and that he will only leave this month if it is made clear he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

'But Benitez, who made Mata the cornerstone of his Chelsea side last term, believes he can win the race to land the 25-year-old.

'Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in the £30million-rated star.

'Liverpool and Manchester United are too, but Chelsea will not allow Mata to join a Premier League rival.'

The Manchester Evening News claims United are on 'red alert' for Mata, confusingly saying that David Moyes wants to bolster his midfield and will thus move for Mata.

That United already have at least three No.10s in Wayne Rooney, Shinji Kagawa and Adnan Januzaj, so probably have other areas of their team that need strengthening, isn't mentioned.

Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph claims Chelsea will demand a whopping £25million for Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg. Atletico Madrid want him on loan, it says here.

ARSENAL TO MEET COSTA CLAUSE
We don't want to get Gooner hopes up, because we've seen their little faces fall when stuff like this hasn't come off before, but we bring word from The Daily Star that Arsenal will go hard for Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa during the transfer window.

The Star claims Arsene Wenger will be pressed into action after injuries to Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner, and pressed in a big way, with talk of them meeting the £32million release clause in the big Spanish Brazilian/Brazilian Spaniard's contract.

The paper reports that Chelsea are also keen, but with Mourinho apparently not keen on recruiting a striker this month, the inference is that Arsenal will make their move.

Hmmmm.

WHERE'S LESCOTT GOING?
It seems to have been something of a long goodbye for Joleon Lescott at Manchester City, and there is a fair bit of talk in the papers this morn about his future.

The Manchester Evening News says Spurs are keen on the defender on loan, but that Manuel Pellegrini will only consider a 'sizeable' offer for him, and since his contract is up in the summer, that would seem rather unlikely.

However, there's two sides to every story, and The Daily Mail provides the other one, by claiming City are '
'ready to grant Lescott's wish to leave the club on loan.'

Besiktas and Monaco are keen, apparently, but Lescott himself would like to stay in the Premier League, where Newcastle and Spurs are the options.

SWANSEA WANT STERLING
A few papers this morning report that Swansea want to take Raheem Sterling on loan.

Apparently they might have a chance of Brendan Rodgers letting the winger leave if they complete the signing of Basel winger Mohamed Salah, which could happen shortly in an £8million deal.

And thus, Sterling may be loaned out, with The Daily Mirror reporting: 'The speedster could now go to Rodgers' previous club, where a similar emphasis is placed on the style of football which the Northern Irishman did so well with at the Liberty.

'Rodgers also wants Sterling to continue the rapid rate of progress he has enjoyed since being integrated fully into the first-team last season.'
