Hate to break it to you cferns, but when the price mentioned is 35m, you can be sure everyone has already noticed the boy's talent. The North London myth of unearthing diamonds in the rough only to be gazumped at the last minute by City/Chelsea money doesn't really apply anymore. It's a new world where all the big clubs are aware of all the promising players these days.

yeah well done jimbarcorp, moyes had him at everton, the difference is he might be a good player at a bad club, and an average player at a great club! van persie was a great player at arsenal, but a title winning player at united! ruberhead!!!!!

If anyone can turn a quality attacking midfielder into a world class striker it's Wenger, as Henry and RVP have proved. I bet Arsenal fans just hope he doesn't sell him to Barca when/if he finally reaches his potential.

Turning Draxler into a striker is doable, but surely not in the middle of the season, let alone the middle of a title race. As exciting as that sounds, it doesn't help us right now.

Expensive yes, but transformations can be done. Moyes got a fairly good midfielder for £27M and then quickly turned him into a hairy turd who doesn't even grace the bench.

I hope they can get him to sign a pre-agreement so he's ready after the world cup. With the oily bastards everywhere, they will throw much more than Arsenal to get him once they notice his talent during the world cup.

@ted, it seems a huge amount to buy a player and then convert him to another position. If it were that easy it would be a good idea to turn Nicky Bendtner into a central defender (because he's tall).

Seems a huge amount for Draxler.

Invest 8 yrs of your working life to mould a player, turning them into one of the world's best, for them to jump ship the minute they acheive the require standard? Don't do it Wenger. Don't do it!
