VAN PERSIE SET FOR ARSENAL RETURN?
The big gossip on Saturday comes courtesy of the Metro, who claim that Robin van Persie could make a sensational return to Arsenal in the summer.

According to the Metro, Van Persie's agent met with Arsene Wenger in January to discuss a possible transfer as the striker seeks an exit from Manchester United.

'The Dutchman has reportedly become frustrated with life under new manager David Moyes, and is now angling for a switch back to Arsenal,' report the Metro.

'According to Sky Italia, Wenger met Van Persie's representative in London late last month where it was made clear that Van Persie wants to leave United - and go back to the Gunners.

'Wenger is believed to be now considering his next move, but with United planning an overhaul of their squad in the summer, the 30-year-old could be made available.'

PSG EYE LUIZ
David Luiz has played a key role for Chelsea in recent weeks, but there is still talk of the defender leaving the Blues in the summer.

Barcelona are long-term admirers of the Brazilian, but the La Liga champions now face competition from PSG.

According to TalkSPORT: 'The Ligue 1 champions are expected to part ways with another Brazilian centre-back, Alex, during the summer, and have identified his old Stamford Bridge team-mate Luiz as the perfect replacement.

'PSG are reportedly willing to offer more than Barcelona's £20.5 valuation of Luiz - and that could give them the edge in the battle to land the defender.'

NEWCASTLE TO SELL BEN ARFA
This doesn't surprise us one bit. According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle have finally run out of patience with Hatem Ben Arfa and are prepared to cash in on the winger in the summer.

The 26-year-old has struggled for fitness over the past year and has failed to return to his blistering form of the 2011/12 campaign, which catapulted Toon to a fifth-place finish.

'The French playmaker has been a bit-part player over the last eight months because of Alan Pardew's preference to see greater work-rate from his attacking midfielders,' report the Echo.

'With just one more season remaining on his contract at St James' Park, Ben Arfa is likely to be sold if the price is right this summer as the club would prefer not to see the player leave for nothing a year later.'
