Liverpool make tentative Isco enquiries, Arsenal now focus on Carvalho, Spurs to move for Schneiderlin and more...

Roma defender Mehdi Benatia leads David Moyes' list of targets to replace Nemanja Vidic in the summer, according to the Daily Express.

'The 26-year-old Moroccan international only joined Roma from Udinese in an £11m deal last summer, when he was also linked with United, Arsenal and Tottenham,' report the Express.

'But it seems that United have returned to a player that they have been monitoring for some time in their bid to replace the formidable Serbian.'

Considering Roma have conceded only ten goals in the 23 Serie A matches Benatia has played this season, that seems a pretty good idea to us.

The 26-year-old has also scored five goals as Roma challenge Juventus for the scudetto.

Despite reports linking Toni Kroos with a £30m move to Manchester United at the end of the season, Bayern Munich insist that the midfielder won't be allowed to leave.

"Toni has a contract until the summer of 2015 and he will not be going anywhere before then," said Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer.

"And we are determined to make sure he will stay at Bayern beyond the expiry date of his current deal. We really value Toni and have shown so more than once."

However, Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer has warned Kroos that the Bundesliga champions won't be held to ransom in contract talks, saying: "You have to make a decision as a club when someone's demands are going through the roof.

"There is not a single player who's worth changing your entire wage structure for.

"Nobody's indispensable. If the player wants to stay at Bayern, I can only advise him not to overplay his hand."

Liverpool and Manchester City are set to duke it out for Victor Valdes, as the keeper edges closer to leaving Barcelona.

According to the Daily Mirror, Valdes is keen to move to the Premier League, with both Liverpool and City expressing an interest in the 32-year-old.

'Barcelona keeper Valdes is set to leave the Nou Camp this summer and Monaco have been favourites to land the Spaniard on a free transfer,' report the Mirror.

'But Valdes has told his advisers to sound out potential options in the Premier League.'

"My time here is done," Valdes told Spanish television channel Antena3 last October.

"They offered me the chance to renew but my decision had been made.

"I am seeking new challenges. I want to play in another league and be with my family in another place."

Another quick line from the Daily Mirror now, who report that Bacary Sagna is holding out for a three-year deal worth £100,000 a week to stay at Arsenal.

'Sagna wants to finish his career at the Emirates but the club are in danger of losing him when his contract expires this summer after negotiations stalled,' report the Mirror.

'Sources close to the player say he has been left frustrated and disappointed that Arsenal have not moved quicker to tie him down. Arsenal have offered him a two-year deal but it is similar to the £60,000-a-week to what he is on now.'

PSG, Monaco, Inter and Galatasaray are all thought to be interested in Sagna, while Liverpool were linked with a move for the 31-year-old last week.
