LIVERPOOL FAVOURITES FOR VALDES
Now this would be interesting.
The Daily Express reports that Liverpool are favourites to sign Victor Valdes when he leaves Barcelona in the summer.
Valdes hasn't announced where he will go when he leaves Cataluyna after about a billion years at the club, and there really aren't many strong theories about his potential destination, but the Express seems keen to fix that.
Well, not quite the Express, but they bring us news via reports from Spain. They claim:
'Spanish paper Sport ascertains Liverpool submitted a fresh proposal to Valdes, though it is unclear about the nature of the terms being offered.
'They also claim Brendan Rodgers was keen on Valdes last summer, and is thought to be optimistic of beating Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain to his signature.'
LLORIS WANTED BY PSG & ARSENAL
Speaking of PSG and goalies, The Daily Star reckons they want Hugo Lloris between their sticks next season.
The paper claims the Spurs keeper is a wanted man, with a side a little closer to home keen on his too.
The Star reports: 'The French side are looking to recruit a top quality goalkeeper as they look to qualify and challenge in next year's European championship.
'Sources in France claim Arsenal are also thought to be interested in Lloris, but are unlikely to be considered by their north London rivals.'
Ha. We don't have a horse in that particular race, but admit it - that would be f*cking funny.
COSTA GOING NOWHERE
Unlucky, Chelsea. Hard cheese, Manchester City. Sit down, Arsenal. Diego Costa ain't going nowhere, according to Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo.
"I do not think Diego Costa is going to leave Atletico at the end of the coming year," Cerezo is quoted as saying by The Daily Mirror.
"Undoubtedly, we do not want to sell him or use him as a bargaining chip for another player.
"You can appreciate this because we never sell but other teams come for our players.
"Diego wants to play for the Spanish national team and it has been an important decision [for him].
"He likes Spain, he lives here and he considers it a better option to be part of the current world champions, so if he does play he will do great.
"I trust the Spanish team will gain a lot with his inclusion."
So there you go.
DJOUROU WANTS TO LE...HANG ON, DJOUROU?
Hands up if you had forgotten Johan Djourou was still technically an Arsenal player. Hands up if you had forgotten Johan Djourou was still alive.
Well, both of those things are true, but perhaps not for much longer. Sorry, just the first bit - hopefully he isn't going to die soon.
Djourou, currently on loan at Hamburg, said: "I know the coach, I love the club, I love the city. HSV (Hamburg) is incredible.
"The club has so much potential. We have to go way up.
"The fans are great. The mood is different than in England. If all goes well and the club also want to, I would stay."
