UNITED IN FOR COENTRAO (AGAIN)
Yesterday the talk was of United paying £37m for one Jorge Mendes client in William Carvalho, today rumours of them paying £10m for another.

Fabio Coentrao is that man, whose supposed move from Real Madrid has been touted for the best part of two years, with an expected loan move move failing to materialise in January.

The Daily Star this morning go big on the news (making it an 'Exclusive') and handily also help their readers with some maths - with Coentrao at £10m and Luke Shaw at £30m, the Portuguese is apparently cheaper.

We're going to level with you, that's just about all the Star say on the matter, but with this one soon entering 'saga' status, we'd quite like someone to bloody buy him.

SPURS BOSS WANTS MANE
Unfortunately, that headline is less glorious when you discover that Tim Sherwood doesn't in fact want to model his facial hair on a lion, but instead has just shown interest in Red Bull Salzburg winger Sadio Mane, according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper report that Sherwood has sent scout Ian Broomfield to watch the 21-year-old Senegal international, who impressed in the group stages of the Europa League this season. Salzburg are thought to want to cash in on a midfielder worth £10m, but the Mirror do mention that Spurs face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle for Mane. Guess it depends on whether he fancies actually starting any league games.

BAYERN DROP OUT OF DRAXLER RACE
Some potentially good news for Arsenal fans coming out of Germany via The Guardian, who claim that Bayern Munich have dropped out of the race to sign Julian Draxler this summer.

By 'claim', we mean 'use quotes from Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rumenigge': "We are not buying any player from Dortmund or Schalke just to hurt these clubs. We are just buying players who can give FC Bayern more quality straight away. I can rule out that we will sign Julian Draxler in the summer."

With Arsenal reportedly coming close to having a bid accepted in January, we can't think of many reasons why they wouldn't go back again in the summer. That said, it could be an elaborate ruse to put everyone off the scent. Don't be surprised to see Draxler draped in a Bayern red-and-white scarf come August, rather than an Arsenal one.
