LIVERPOOL AFTER INTER'S KOVACIC
Mateo Kovacic is seen as one of the brightest young stars of European football, and it appears that Liverpool consider themselves as having the ability to tempt him away from Inter, if the Metro are to be believed.
Kovacic only moved to Milan from Dinamo Zagreb last January, but his agent has recently dropped hints that the 19-year-old is unhappy in Italy, with Inter struggling for form under Walter Mazzarri.
The Croatian has recently found himself out of the side, and his agent spoke of his disillusionment at the situation: "Everybody is confused as to why Mateo is not playing. Is there a row with Mazzarri I can't say a lot, but he is not happy."
A price of £8million is mooted by the paper.
ARSENAL KEEN ON WILLIAMS
We are rather of the opinion that Ashley Williams is simply not of the sufficient quality for Arsenal to make a move for him this summer, but this is a rumour that simply will not go away.
The Daily Mail report that the Swansea captain is keen to move to the Emirates (which we can obviously understand a little more), but this is a central defender who is 29 and hasn't even been at his best this season. We'd be very, very surprised.
MIKEL SEEKS CHELSEA DEPARTUREJon Obi Mikel has often been something of a scapegoat at Chelsea, with many supporters (both partisan and neutral) feeling he is simply not good enough for such a high-profile club. They might well be right.
Anyway, after the arrival on Nemanja Matic the Nigerian midfielder has found his opportunities in the Premier League to be even more limited, and it appears that Mikel will look to move from Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Daily Mirror report that Galatasaray have joined a number of Italian clubs in for the defensive midfielder, but also claim that Chelsea are not prepared to let him go on the cheap.
Very much a bullet that Manchester United did well to dodge, it seems.
BARCA MONITORING GUNDOGAN
Not news that will please Manchester United fans, this. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is widely regarded to be on the club's shopping list this summer, but the Daily Express report that Barcelona are also uinterested.
The Catalan club have sent a doctor to Germany to check on Gundogan's progress in recovering from a back injury.
However, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Wacke has not given up hope of Gundogan signing a new deal at the Westfalenstadion.
"As for the contract, it will not be a long, dragged-out affair. I think it is not going to be more than a matter of weeks."
AND THE REST
Crystal Palace, QPR and Fulham are considering summer moves for Leeds striker Ross McCormack... Cardiff will move for Hannover's Mame Biram Diouf if Javi Guerra's move falls through... Hull City keeper Allan McGregor could lose a kidney after his horror clash at West Ham... Chelsea have opened talks with captain John Terry, 33, over a new contract that would keep him at the club beyond this season.
