BELHANDA DROPS ARSENAL HINT
Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have had a long-standing interest in Morocco international Younes Belhanda, and it now appears that the player himself is making flirty faces right back at the Gunners.
The Metro this morning use quotes given by Belhanda to France Football magazine, in which he confirms interest in both playing in England in general and Arsenal in particular. The 24-year-old moved from Montpellier to Dynamo Kiev last summer for around £8million, and has scored six goals in 18 league games in Ukraine.
"How long will I stay at Dynamo? I don't know," Belhanda said.
"If I have opportunities to go higher, I will seize them. I am dreaming about England. Every player wants to play in England one day. I have to experience that.
"My favourite club? Arsenal, of course."
We've resorted to SHOUTSport for this one, but they claim that Manchester United will join Napoli and Arsenal in the chase for Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons this summer.
The 25-year-old has been an Lyon for his whole career, but now seems keen on furthering his ambitions with the French club faltering. Lyon's financial situation is precarious, and they may look to cash in on one of their most valuable assets.
Gonalons is thought to favour a move to Naples, but with Arsene Wenger and now reportedly David Moyes also keen, Lyon will look to invite more interest in an attempt to push up any potential transfer fee.
RAMIREZ OFF TO MILAN
Gaston Ramirez may have been Southampton's record transfer when he joined in 2012 from Bologna, but it's fair to say that it hasn't exactly worked out brilliantly for him in England.
The Uruguayan has found himself benched as the Saints' English front three has provided all the required attacking invention, a bit-part role clearly not sufficient for a player hoping to hold down an international place for years to come.
Still just 23, however, it appears that AC Milan may offer Ramirez a chance to replace the departing Kaka. That's if his agent is to be believed, quoted in the Daily Mirror.
"It would be a weighty inheritance to replace Kaka, but an honour for Gaston. How could you say no to Milan, who are one of the best clubs in Europe?" Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt said.
"It would be an important opportunity for him. We are trying to understand which team can make the right offer to Saints.Ramirez played very well in Italy and many Serie A clubs remember him positively.
"Today you cannot say he's important for Southampton, seeing as he always starts from the bench."
Not exactly keeping his cards close to his chest is he?
