After he was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer, Angel Di Maria is back on the Gunners' radar with Manchester City also joining the race for the Argentine's signature.

Di Maria has enjoyed a brilliant season at Real Madrid but, according to the Daily Star, the 26-year-old is 'surplus to requirements'. Hmmm.

Apparently Real want around £29m for the winger, with the Star reporting: 'Both City and Arsenal have targeted Di Maria in the past, and they will face competition from Monaco and Paris St-Germain if he leaves.

'But sources in Spain claim both Premier League clubs have already contacted Real to ask about the 26-year-old's availability.'

Despite only signing a new contract at Hoffenheim in March, Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino is now being linked with a £15m move to Chelsea.

The 22-year-old scored 16 goals and claimed 11 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances this season, prompting Hoffenheim to reward him with a new three-year contract.

However, according to the Daily Express: 'Mourinho sees Firmino as a complementary piece in his overhaul of the Chelsea squad.

'Firmino is the highest scoring Brazilian playing in Europe this season but that hasn't been enough to see him included in his national team's squad for the World Cup.

'Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all previously been linked with a move for Firmino, but the player has always maintained he wants to stay at Hoffenheim.'

According to the Guardian, Adam Lallana may have to inform Southampton that he wants to quit the club if he is to succeed in forcing through a move to Liverpool.

The Saints captain is reportedly at the top of Brendan Rodgers' summer shortlist, with the Reds' boss hoping to push through a £20m deal before the World Cup.

But with Southampton playing hard ball in negotiations, the Guardian report: 'With Roy Hodgson keen to avoid any distractions before England take their World Cup preparations to Miami on 1 June, and Rodgers preferring to complete his main signings early, Lallana may have to leave Southampton in no doubt over his intentions to seal the transfer swiftly.'

Meanwhile, there's talk of Liverpool trying to pinch William Carvalho from under Manchester United's noses and a possible £9m return for Javier Mascherano, who is also attracting interest from (shock horror) Rafa Benitez's Napoli.
