Joe Allen to United (the silliest one we've seen), Arsenal to pay £50m for Cavani, Milan want Torres & Van Ginkel...
ARSENAL TO BID FOR BENZEMA
This is a transfer that we would really like to see. Karim Benzema is a quite wonderful striker that has had a quite wonderful season, and yours truly has staked a fair amount of his
well-earned money on him being in the top few goalscorers at this summer's World Cup.
The Daily Telegraph report that Arsenal could be set to renew their interest in the Frenchman, after hopes of a deal were dashed last summer.
The paper admit that the chances of such a deal depend largely on Real Madrid's ability to recruit either Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero from the Premier League, but mention that a deal could be done for £30million. Benzema is still only 26 so that would seem a more than fair price, reflecting that the striker only has one year left on his deal at the Bernabeu.
BAYERN TO MAKE LUIZ OFFER
It seems more and more likely that Jose Mourinho will allow David Luiz to leave Chelsea this summer, will Gary Cahill (and Kurt Zouma?) at the heart of the club's defence and Nemanja Matic as the holding - and passing - midfielder. Luiz is a talent, of course, but a £32million move for Diego Costa can't fund itself.
However, whilst we rather assumed that Barcelona would be Luiz's next move, the Daily Mail believe that an offer may soon come from more Germanic climes. It's one of their seven-line stories that contains very little in the way of detail, but claims that Pep Guardiola is an admirer of Luiz and will instruct Bayern Munich to make a £35million offer.
With Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez, Philipp Lahm, Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger already fighting for central midfield positions at the Allianz, one hopes that the Brazilian is being recruited as a central defender.
LIVERPOOL TARGET ALBERTO MORENO
Providing that Luis Suarez doesn't pack his bags and leave, the one position in Liverpool's side that is screaming out for improvement this summer is left-back. Aly Cissokho hasn't worked and will return to Valencia after his loan spell ends, Jon Flanagan sees himself as Glen Johnson's long-term replacement at right-back and Jose Enrique is effectively on the Missing Persons list.
With that in mind it is little surprise to see the club linked with Sevilla's Alberto Moreno in the Liverpool Echo. The defender won the Europa League with his side on Wednesday, capping off a good week in which he was also named in Spain's provisional World Cup squad. Moreno is still just 21 and is likely to command a fee of around £15million.
Interestingly, the paper also cite Ryan Bertrand as an alternative to Moreno. That's England's seventh (Baines, Shaw, Cole, Flanagan, Gibbs, Rose, Bertrand?) choice left-back Ryan Bertrand. Know which one we'd prefer.
