Fellaini agrees Napoli move as United hold out for £18m, Arsenal back in for Khedira, Schneiderlin to go on strike?

CHELSEA NOW AFTER MIDFIELD RECRUIT
After the rather bombshell-like news that David Luiz would be leaving Chelsea to join the Paris FFP deniers, there now seems to be £50million quid in the Stamford Bridge coffers and the distinct desire for a central midfielder.

This esteemed gossiper thinks that Sami Khedira would be a decent shout to play alongside Nemanja Matic, but the Daily Telegraph has other ideas. They probably know what they're talking about, too. The paper mention three names: Juventus' Paul Pogba, Atletico Madrid's Koke and Paulinho from Spurs.

The main point of interest in the paper's story is that they predict Spurs asking for £34million for Paulinho. Surely it would be quite the surprise if Chelsea were prepared to stump up that sort of cash, particularly as the Brazilian lost his place to Nabil Bentaleb at times last season?

Pogba is evidently the star name, with his agent Mino Raiola claiming that the French midfielder may look to Italy, but Pogba himself did recently state his desire to remain with Juve for the time being. Watch this space, is the message.

ARSENAL TO MAKE FABREGAS BID
To the Metro now, who claim that Arsene Wenger is close to asking Arsenal to make a £35million bid to bring Cesc Fabregas 'home'. The Spanish midfielder has never quite fitted in seamlessly into Barcelona's team or style, and the majority of reports suggest that the Catalan giants would be prepared to listen to reasonable offers for Fabregas.

Manchester United seems the obvious destination after the club pulled out of a deal to sign Toni Kroos, but the Metro believe that Arsenal is instead Fabregas' likely next move.

The paper also mention that Arsenal do have this buy-back first option on Fabregas, but given the presence of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere (plus Theo Walcott to play wide right), can't really see that Fabregas is a necessary move for Arsenal. Would that £35million not be better spent on Karim Benzema, say?

SPURS IN FOR MORATA
Now this is a rumour we can get on board with. Alvaro Morata may be just 21, but with Real Madrid potentially allowing him to leave it is no wonder that a host of clubs are fighting each other in a bid to tempt the Spaniard to join. Arsenal, Internazionale and Juventus have all reportedly declared interest in a player that has already scored 56 goals at club level and a hugely impressive 13 goals in 12 Spain U-21 matches.

However, despite those illustrious suitors the Daily Express claim that it is Spurs that are closest to signing Morata, even though the fact that they don't actually have a manager. Don't let that worry you, Spurs fans.

Any deal for Morata would surely depend on Real's ability to sign a striker of their own, given that Morata is currently the back-up to Karim Benzema. Edinson Cavani or Luis Suarez, would seem to be the question.

Speaking of Spurs, the Daily Mirror makes claim that Emmanuel Adebayor will soon be saluting goodbye to the club (and England), with Monaco aiming to sign a player that scored 26 goals in 115 games for them between 2003 and 2006 before leaving for Arsenal. So there.

AND THE REST
Liverpool are close to finalising a surprise £10m deal for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can... Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ordered his scouts to keep tabs on Schalke's Japan international right-back Atsuto Uchida... Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly ready to fight it out for Rubin Kazan teenager Sardar Azmoun - dubbed the 'Iranian Messi'... Hull lead the chase to sign Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi... West Ham are in talks over a £250,000 loan deal for AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang... Leicester have made a £1million offer for Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell and hope to seal a deal this weekend... Chelsea and Arsenal want to sign Hamburg's attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Pogba for Chelsea would be an excellent buy.
