All of Wednesday morning's rumours are here...
JOSE NOT SURE ABOUT CESC
Well, we did wonder about the rather difficult relationship between Jose Mourinho and Cesc Fabregas scuppering this particular transfer, and according to the Guardian it could well be a deal-breaker.
The paper reports that this has all very much been a ruse concocted by the Chelsea top brass, and Mourinho prefers Atletico Madrid's Koke, who is a target for Barcelona.
The Guardian claims: 'Mourinho, however, is unsure about the Spaniard, preferring instead to target Koke. And, with Mourinho having also sold another diminutive goal-scoring playmaker in Juan Mata to United in January, plus Fabregas's history with the Portuguese, whether he joins Chelsea is in the balance.'
Much like Sister Wendy, doesn't sound like a goer, this one.
WHO CAN? EMRE CAN!
Word on what The Daily Mail claims is a DONE DEAL now, and apparently Liverpool have activated German midfielder Emre Can's release clause.
The paper claims that the £9.75million fee in the German midfielder's contract required to let him leave for a foreign club has been offered, and Brendan Rodgers hopes to have a deal sorted sharpish.
The Mail reports: 'The club hope to have a deal concluded within the week as they press ahead with plans for an assault on the Premier League title.
'The player's agent, Reza Fazeli, is a familiar face around Anfield after brokering a loan move with the club for Nuri Sahin in 2012.
'Rodgers is keen to get his transfer business done early. Rickie Lambert has already signed for £4million from Southampton ahead of the World Cup and they continue to pursue England midfielder Adam Lallana.'
VAN GAAL WANTS STROOTMAN
Louis van Gaal seems like a no-nonsense sort, and it seems he already has in mind the midfielder that he wants to beef up the heart of his Manchester United side.
And it's Kevin Strootman, who United should probably have bought a year or so ago, the Roma midfielder who is currently out with a knee calamity.
The Guardian reports that Van Gaal is keen on Strootman, but that no contact between United and Roma has been made over the Dutchman, who would cost something like £30million.
The paper quotes Strootman's agent, Chiel Dekker, as saying: "He is of interest to Louis van Gaal but not related to Manchester United at this point...he's in Rome and he had a terrific season. There has been nothing between the clubs or between Louis and Kevin - they know each other and like each other but at this stage its not related to Man United.
"Roma do not want to sell. The first thing is it's all between [the] clubs. And it's also a very difficult decision because he has to choose between a fantastic club in Rome, a club that bought him and supported him while he was injured and [then] you have his personal coach of the national team at United.
"The clubs have to decide. He's very happy at Rome, he's happy to stay because they play Champions League next season, and happy to recover [from] his injury, so at this stage we are not part of any discussion."
MULLER WANTS A MEETING?
Here's one that will probably get various people awfully excited for (probably) no good reason - Thomas Muller wants Bayern Munich to tell him what's what.
"I have reached the point where I want to know if I am an essential component of the Bayern Munich first XI for the new season and if the club has plans for me over the coming years," said Muller.
"That's why I will be out to have a meeting.
"I am not the type of guy that says, 'Alright, I have played a good part and will keep my mouth shut and everyone else is able to do with me whatever he wants'.
"As a Munich-boy your test at Bayern Munich is always a bit tougher, but we (those players graduated from the youth academy) are the grassroots of this club!"
