United (and others) to miss out on Mehdi Benatia, Chelsea want £30m for Lukaku, Vlaar to hold Villa talks...
ANGEL ON OFFER
The club? Manchester United. The price? £40m. But the Daily Star claim that United value Real Madrid and Argentina winger Angel di Maria at a price closer to £30m and 'he is understood to have reservations about joining a club who will not be playing Champions League football next season'. But with super-agent Jorge Mendes on the case, the deal could still be pushed over the line. Arsenal, Paris St-Germain and Juventus are the other three clubs said to be interested in Di Maria.
Elsewhere, there are suggestions that Bayern Munich want to make Colombia and Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado their new right-back; you may remember that he was reportedly the subject of a £30m bid for Manchester United.
TWO NEW FOR ARSENAL
'Arsene Wenger is confident of pulling off a £35million double deal for Arsenal targets Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy,' writes the Daily Mirror's resident Arsenal fanboy John Cross. He's counting £25m for Sanchez (though other reports suggest Barcelona are holding out for £32m) and £10m for Newcastle right-back Debuchy (with a suggestion that Carl Jenkinson could go the other way on loan).
There is definitely a sense that Sanchez is keen on a move to Arsenal; he has apparently been given permission to talk to Liverpool but is dragging his heels.
The Mirror claim that a midfielder and goalkeeper will follow for the Gunners, with the Daily Star claiming that they are wiling to pay £20m for Frenchman Morgan Scheniderlin.
CAN'T BUY YOU LOVREN
It can buy you diamond rings, my friend, but not Dejan Lovren, it seems. According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have offered a tidy £20m to Southampton for the centre-half and have been turned down. This has left the Croat a tad irked as he apparently believes he has a 'gentleman's agreement' with the Saints that a bid of £20m could trigger a transfer.
The Echo says: 'Lovren has been left fuming by what he sees as Saints reneging on a promise and is ready to go on strike in order to force through his dream move.'
Should Lovren join Liverpool, it seems likely that Daniel Agger will be allowed to leave for around £12m.

Shame about debuchy but if he wants champions league football we can't really blame him, if arsenal are really going to double what we paid and lend us jenkinson for a year I think we should treat their hand like a certain Uruguayan treats Italian shoulders.- pabbaz92
