Arsenal 'agree deal in principle' to sign Petr Cech, United plan record bid for Hummels, Pool to cough up for Origi...

That's the big claim in Friday's Daily Star, who report that Yaya Toure has rejected a move to Manchester United as he holds out for PSG.

Toure is apparently still keen to quit City over a perceived lack of respect from the club, but it's thought he's seeking a move abroad as he plans for the end of his career.

'United saw a chance to lure the Ivory Coast international across town to Old Trafford in what would have been a sensational transfer coup,' claim the Star.

'United bosses let it be known Toure was on their shopping list and were hopeful of pulling-off a £40m deal.

'But Toure has told the fallen giants he has no interest in joining his neighbours at United because he is holding out for a move to Paris Saint-Germain instead.'

According to the Daily Mail, Ross Barkley is City's top target to replace Toure if the Ivorian follows through with his threat to leave.

There are a number of Premier League clubs chasing the England youngster, but City are thought to be in pole position and ready to swoop should they need to.

'Suffice to say Everton have no plans to sell Barkley. After last season's step forward, it would be a huge fall backwards to sell the 20-year-old,' report the Mail.

'They know they could command £50million plus but Barkley is pivotal to the plans of Roberto Martinez.'

We highly doubt even City would pay £50m plus for Barkley.

Chelsea are now leading the race for Sami Khedira after Arsenal decided not to pursue their initial interest, report the Express.

The Real Madrid midfielder is reportedly unwilling to lower his £150,000-a-week wage demands, forcing Arsene Wenger to abandon his plans to bring Khedira to the Emirates.

Morgan Schneiderlin is among the players listed as an alternative, while the Daily Star claim Arsenal have also been handed a 'boost' in their bid to sign Mario Balotelli after he posted a photo in front of the club's badge on Instagram.
