Liverpool want out-of-favour Ezequiel Lavezzi or Barcelona's Pedro (and so do Arsenal), Eden Hazard set for new five-year deal...
RODGERS PLANS £150m SPENDING SPREE
That's according to the Mirror, who claim that Liverpool are looking for a marquee signing to replace Luis Suarez.
'Liverpool will take their summer spending to £100million this week - and Brendan Rodgers plans to splash out another £50m,' report the Mirror.
Rodgers is preparing to close deals for Loic Remy, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi, but the Mirror add: 'He is also targeting a midfield marquee signing and is prepared to spend £30m on either of Juventus stars Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba, or Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.'
Liverpool might want those players, but whether they'll come is a different matter.
SPURS WANT ROMA PAIR
After a quiet summer so far at White Hart Lane, it looks like Spurs are about to kick into gear with a double move for Roma stars Mattia Destro and Mehdi Benatia.
Both played important roles in Roma's impressive Serie A campaign last season, which led to Benatia being linked with Man United, Man City and Chelsea earlier in the summer.
However, it looks like Spurs are now in pole position, and they have an ace up their sleeve in Franco Baldini, who was formerly the sporting director at Roma and handed them a huge bag of cash for Erik Lamela last year.
'Baldini has a solid relationship with Roma having agreed to sign Erik Lamela from them last summer and he hopes to do business again,' report The Metro.
'Destro is seen as an easy option to sign with the player interested in a switch away, but Benatia is likely to be more difficult to sign, with several top Champions League clubs keen.'
AND GRIEZMANN IS ALSO ON THE CARDS
It's an exciting day of gossip for Spurs fans, with Antoine Griezmann also thought to be in the club's sights.
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are eyeing the France international as the perfect replacement for Gareth Bale, regardless of the fact that the two are very different players and that Erik Lamela was supposed to assume Bale's mantle.
'Spurs face a battle to land Griezmann, with Monaco interested in the French international and Chelsea also keeping a watching brief on the situation,' report The Telegraph.
'Tottenham are understood to have already made one bid for Griezmann, but have been told they will have to meet the £25 million buy-out clause in his Real Sociedad contract.'
UNITED TARGET BLIND
There was talk on Monday of Daley Blind joining Barcelona as Carles Puyol's replacement, but the Daily Express claim Manchester United are also battling for the 24-year-old's signature.
'According to Italian sources, Louis Van Gaal is ready to step up his interest in the versatile 24-year-old, and make Blind his third significant signing of the summer,' report the Express.
'Blind's versatility makes him an ideal candidate for Van Gaal to acquire, especially considering the departures of left-backs Alexander Büttner and Patrice Evra.'
Apparently the defender will cost around £17m, but he could be worth the money if he helps Van Gaal fulfil his vision for United.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail continue to link the club with a move for Mats Hummels, despite Jurgen Klopp decrying speculation as 'garbage'.
ARSENAL WANT PLAYER SWAP FOR VERMAELEN
Arsene Wenger is willing to let Thomas Vermaelen join Manchester United, but only if Arsenal receive a player in return.
The cash rich Gunners don't necessarily need the £10m fee mooted for the Belgium international, but Wenger apparently fancies his chances of developing either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling in his central defence.
'Vermaelen, 28, has only a year left on his contract so £10m could be seen as a good price,' report the Mirror.
'The Gunners have also looked at Tom Cleverley but their priority now is defensive cover, having inquired about Jones at the start of the summer.'
Colombia stopper David Ospina should join Arsenal from Nice for £3m in the next few days.

@peeyugo Of course from a Gunners fan... but when you say "Liverpool didn't learn from Tottenham".. Does anyone sincerely believe things are that simple? Let's take a look... We have a superior manager than Tottenham. We have a superior culture than Tottenham. We have a superior team than Tottenham!!! We have the best leader in the Prem in Steven Gerrard at Liverpool. We are getting different players than Tottenham... Just because it didn't work out for them (last season) doesn't mean it won't work for us. Doesn't mean it will either. I don't claim to be a psychic like many others. It all "remains to be seen" but I think considering the variables we have every chance of being excellent this season. This a very confident group (starting with Rodgers) even without Suarez.- liferbird7
