After losing Diego Costa and Filipe Luis to Chelsea, Atletico Madrid are keen to kickstart their summer recruitment drive with bids for Arsenal duo Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal.

According to The Telegraph, the La Liga champions are prepared to take advantage of Arsenal's apparent willingness to sell if the price is right.

'Arsenal would be tempted to cash in if Atl├ętico firm up their interest with an attractive offer and would also consider accepting a bid for Cazorla,' report The Telegraph.

'Cazorla, who turns 30 in December, fuelled talk of a move to Atl├ętico last month by admitting he had spoken to some of his fellow Spaniards about the club.'

Meanwhile, Arsenal are close to sealing a deal for Colombia keeper David Ospina after a £3m fee was agreed with Nice.

Douglas Costa, one of the Shakhtar six who initially refused to return to Donetsk following the club's friendly with Lyon, is reportedly a target for both Tottenham and Arsenal.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with Manchester United before his move to Ukraine, and has impressed during a four-year spell at Shakhtar, winning five consecutive league titles.

However, the conflict in the region has caused him to reassess his future, with the forward writing on his Instagram page: "I like the club, the people, the city, but I'm afraid. We want to stay at the club, but we must have risk-free working conditions."

The Independent claim Arsenal and Spurs are ready to swoop should Shakhtar agree to sell.

It looks like Real Madrid have ended their interest in Sergio Aguero after completing a £63m deal for James Rodriguez, but that won't stop Manchester City trying to persuade the striker to sign a new contract.

According to The Sun, City are keen to avoid further speculation over Aguero's future by tying him to a new five-year deal worth a minimum £52m.

'Talks have already taken place and, although the striker's £200,000-a-week wages could stay the same, City chiefs are prepared to give him bigger bonuses,' report The Sun.

'City plan to show how much Aguero is valued by offering him fresh terms, despite the fact he agreed a contract extension only last summer.'
