SCHNEIDERLIN TO COST £27MILLION
Whilst many Southampton fans may be concerned at the number of players leaving St. Mary's, there is little doubt that the club are squeezing out every last penny from interested buyers. The next through the revolving door may well be Morgan Schneiderlin, but again Southampton are very much digging their heels in.

The Guardian report that the Saints have told Tottenham (the likeliest next destination for Schneiderlin) that the French midfielder will cost them £27million. That is not intended to be a come-and-get-him offer, but instead a statement that Ronaldo Koeman wishes to keep a player that the club consider to be more important to them than Luke Shaw, who was sold for a similar fee.

Clearly at some point Southampton do need to replace some of these outgoing players, but with around £85m recouped on Adam Lallana, Shaw, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers, it's difficult to criticise their approach.

VALBUENA TO QPR

This gossiper was left distinctly unimpressed by the signing of Rio Ferdinand, but it's fair to say that QPR and Harry Redknapp have since clicked into gear nicely. Steven Caulker should be a fine signing (although it is odd that more prestigious clubs didn't attempt to sign him), but this is the one that would really deserve a standing ovation - Mathieu Valbuena arriving at Loftus Road.

The Daily Mirror go big on claims that despite serious interest from Dynamo Moscow, the France international would prefer a move to England, and QPR are in the driving seat to make a signing. Valbuena is now 29, making a £7million deal slightly on the expensive side, but if he can find the form that has made him so enjoyable to watch at Marseille then this is a deal we should all get on board with.

The paper also claim that Valbuena will request a £70,000-a-week deal which will include a juicy relegation release clause, which does rather sound a little more like QPR 2012/13, but let's not worry ourselves too much about that.

LUKAKU CLOSE TO EVERTON

The arrival of Didier Drogba at Stamford Bridge seems to be the final nail in the coffin for Romelu Lukaku's Chelsea future, and the only remaining question appears to be where he will be moving to.

The Daily Express reckon that Everton are not only in pole position to sign Lukaku, but will seal an £18million deal in the next few days, with Sky Bet having odds of just 1/5 that Goodison Park will be the Belgian's eventual destination.

It's a move that may well decide the success of Everton's season, with Roberto Martinez understandably keen to bring Lukaku to the club on a permanent deal after he scored 15 times in the Premier League last season.
