UNITED TO BEGIN CLEAR-OUT
It isn't all that long since Louis van Gaal was talking of fully assessing his squad prior to making sweeping judgements on the future of certain players, but it appears decision time may well be drawing near. Now the Dutchman is talking of his 'broken squad'.

Most of the papers have at least something to say on a possible clear-out at Old Trafford. The Sun and Daily Express claim that Marouane Fellaini is in talks with Napoli, whilst the Independent add the news that Borussia Dortmund are ready to re-sign Shinji Kagawa. The Daily Mirror also throw in Anderson and Nani as predictable names that will also be moved on.

Not as much talk of a move for Arturo Vidal, however. Seems that has suddenly gone a little quiet.

JOSE DESPERATE TO SELL TORRES

Fernando Torres: The blockage in the U-bend that no-one can seem to shift.

Jose Mourinho has a significant problem on his hands with Chelsea struggling to fit all of their foreign stars in the 25-man Premier League squad. Rules state that only 17 foreign players can be named, and the return of Didier Drogba means that Jose has 18 players vying for 17 places.

The Daily Telegraph report that Mourinho is desperate to find a buyer for Torres, but potential suitors are (understandably) being put off by the £20million asking fee and £175,000 wages. Well yes, we can see why they would be.

Jon Obi Mikel is the other option to leave the bloated squad to make way for Drogba, and another that Chelsea fans would presumably hold open the door for. Have to somehow make them seem like appetising signings first.

NAPOLI WANT ERIKSEN

We are pretty sure that it would take a bid beyond ridiculous for Spurs to sell Christian Eriksen this summer, given the midfielder's success since arriving from Ajax, but the Daily Express today claim that Napoli and Rafael Benitez are interested in the Dane.

The story is short on any meaningful details, stating that Benitez has been 'monitoring Eriksen's progress and has been impressed with the Dane', which sounds fairly waffly.

Given that Eriksen is under contract until 2018 and cost £13.5million last summer, you can probably at least triple that figure if he was to leave.

They'll talk about Eriksen and get Marouane Fellaini. Poor Neapolitans.

AND THE REST

Swansea boss Garry Monk says club would only sell striker Wilfried Bony for an 'astronomical' fee...Gary Medel is begging Cardiff to let him join Inter this summer despite Galatasaray offering more money... Aston Villa will rival West Brom for the loan signing of Chelsea's Victor Moses and also want Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung... Crystal Palace are in for Lazio's French centre-half Michael Ciani... Sporting Lisbon right-back Miguel Lopes is set to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan, with a view to a permanent move... West Ham have rekindled their interest in signing Stuttgart centre-back Antonio Rudiger in a deal which could cost them £7m.

Wigan want Leicester striker Chris Wood and Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury... Sunderland are trying to find a buyer for Danny Graham, but Middlesbrough and Leeds favour a loan deal... Newcastle target Clement Grenier was absent from Lyon training on Monday... Fulham midfielder Ashkan Dejagah will leave for Qatari club Al-Arabi in a £5m deal... Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is hoping to sign 19-year-old midfielder Serge Gnabry and 22-year-old full-back Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal... Fulham are in pole position to sign Bordeaux centre-half Ludovic Sane.

I think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
