The Scraping Gossip

Isco wants out and could join Liverpool or Arsenal, who are apparently ready to bid big for Edinson Cavani in January.

Another very handy player, and another that Manchester United appear to be missing out on. Mehdi Benatia has been long thought to be a target for a number of European clubs, but Roma are insistent that the Moroccan will not be leaving.

Benatia had seemed set for a summer move after being strongly linked with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea earlier in the summer, and Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in recent weeks. But Roma president James Pallotta says they can all do one.

Benatia? I don't know if there was a communication problem, but I want to make it clear that he has never been for sale, we have never received offers nor are we entering into negotiations," Pallotta said.

"Mehdi is our player and he will be for this season, he is very important for us on and off the field."

So there.

We will be sad puppies if Romelu Lukaku leaves the Premier League, but the latest reports from the Daily Mirror seem to suggest that whilst Chelsea don't particularly want him, Everton will also be pushed to sign the Belgian.

That's because the Mirror claim Chelsea are holding out for £30million for Lukaku, aiming to make considerable profit on their initial purchase. That would seem to rule out Everton, who are only prepared/able to bid £24m.

Monaco, Juventus and Atletico Madrid would seem to be the more likely options now. Sob sob.

It feels like Ron Vlaar might just be the glue keeping Aston Villa together right now (we've watched Nathan Baker before), so we can see why Paul Lambert would be doing everything in his power to stave off possible interest from Southampton and even Manchester United.

Vlaar only has 12 months remaining on his deal at Villa Park, and the Daily Mirror report that the Dutchman could be offered the captaincy in order to remain at the club. The Daily Star go into a little more detail, claiming that Vlaar will be offering £45,000 and a four-year extension in order to stay a Villain.
