CAVANI NEXT ON LIVERPOOL LIST
Twenty-four hours after Liverpool were thought to be in the race for Radamel Falcao, the Liverpool Echo link the Reds with a move for another blockbuster striker, Edinson Cavani.

With Liverpool apparently beaten to Falcao by Real Madrid, Brendan Rodgers has turned his attention to the PSG forward, who has been the subject of intense speculation this summer.

"There has been much interest in the player during the last six months," Cavani's agent, Claudi Anelluci, told Uruguayan paper El Telegrafo.

"I can confirm that Cavani heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal.

"(Cavani) already said he would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision.

"He is not interested in money and fame; he just wants to be happy playing football."

UNITED WANT BENATIA
As well as making a bid for Thomas Vermaelen, Manchester United are reportedly targeting Mehdi Benatia as Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his back line.

Benatia was a crucial part of the Roma defence that kept 21 clean sheets in Serie A last season as Rudi Garcia's side finished in second place.

According to the Daily Star: 'United are reportedly willing to meet the Serie A side's £30million asking price to secure Benatia's signature.'

AND BLIND ALSO ON THE RADAR
It could be an expensive summer at Old Trafford, with the Daily Mail reporting that United also want Daley Blind.

The versatile Ajax defender starred for the Netherlands at the World Cup and is thought to be a favourite of Van Gaal, especially in the manager's 3-5-2 formation.

'Daley Blind is expected to leave Ajax - with Manchester United in the frame for the Holland full-back - after it emerged the 24-year-old has been training alone since he returned from international duty,' report the Mail.

'Ajax youth coach Richard Witschge said: "I think Daley Blind will be leaving soon. I have a feeling.

'"He has been training by himself. I think he has done that because there's something going on."'

Meanwhile, the Daily Express say United are willing to meet Fiorentina's £36m asking price for Juan Cuadrado.
