UNITED TO BID FOR HUMMELS
Manchester United are set to step up their interest in Mats Hummels by lodging a £30m bid for the defender, report the Daily Star.
Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to let Hummels leave, but Louis van Gaal has made the Germany international a top target as he looks to strengthen his defence.
United could face competition from Arsenal, however, and may decide to launch a £17m bid for Daley Blind if it looks like a move for Hummels is impossible.
The Dutch international told Goal: "Of course, it's flattering when you're linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona.
"It would be very hard to turn down these kind of clubs. But there's no serious interest as of yet."
Meanwhile, Van Gaal has dropped his biggest hint yet that United want to sign Angel Di Maria in a £55m deal from Real Madrid.
AGGER SET FOR EXIT
It looks like Daniel Agger is set to leave Liverpool after he was left out of the squad for Sunday's friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham are all considering bids for the Dane as he searches for regular first-team football.
'West Ham are believed to be interested as he would be in their price range at about £10 million, while Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger needs a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen, who is joining Barcelona,' report the Mirror.
'Tottenham will also be keen if they fail in their attempt to sign Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal.'
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has reportedly told Liverpool's transfer committee that he wants Wilfried Bony for £19m.
LUCAS WANTS NAPOLI MOVE
That's according to The Independent, who claim the Liverpool midfielder is keen on a reunion with former boss Rafa Benitez.
Lucas struggled for game time after the turn of the year, starting only five matches in 2014 as Steven Gerrard dropped back into a deeper role.
'Napoli are still talking to Manchester United about securing Marouane Fellaini on loan. But Fellaini's £100,000-a-week United salary is at a level Napoli could not meet, so Leiva seems the more likely signing for Benitez,' report The Independent.
'The Brazilian accepts that Steven Gerrard's transition into a deep-lying midfielder has rendered him redundant.'
