VIDAL NEXT FOR UNITED
Manchester United are planning a £34m bid for Arturo Vidal once Angel Di Maria's move to Old Trafford is finalised, report The Independent.
The Juventus midfielder has been linked with the club all summer, but thus far United have failed to thrash out a deal amid concerns about his injured knee.
'Vidal is Manchester United's top midfield target but the club's concerns about his fitness are so great that it may require a complex, appearance-based contract if he is to follow Angel Di Maria into Louis van Gaal's squad,' report The Indy.
'The player underwent a rapid operation in May to repair his meniscus before the World Cup and was obviously never fully fit in Brazil, where he could not complete any of the three games he played.'
According to the report, Daley Blind and Nigel De Jong also remain on United's radar.
ARSENAL CLOSE IN ON CARVALHO
Arsenal are set to increase their interest in William Carvalho after Sporting Lisbon lowered their asking price for the midfielder.
'Portuguese reports claim Lisbon are prepared to accept a significantly reduced fee of £24m for their coveted star, £11m less than had originally been expected,' report the Express.
'Marco Silva's side do have additional requests if Arsenal land the Portugal star, and have demanded Carvalho be loaned back for the season until a replacement can be found.
Sporting are also said to be interested in Yaya Sanogo, Serge Gnabry, Francis Coquelin and Ryo Miyaichi as Arsenal mull a part-exchange deal.
ARSENAL TO RETURN FOR REMY
Olivier Giroud's ankle injury is set to force Arsenal back into the transfer market as Arsene Wenger ponders a bid for Loic Remy.
'A clause in Rémy's QPR contract means Arsenal could sign him for £8million, but the Frenchman's £90,000-a-week wage demands have so far put Wenger off,' report The Telegraph.
'More ambitious targets would be Paris St-Germain's Edison Cavani or Monaco's Radamel Falcao, but both men would be very expensive. A season-long loan deal for Falcao would cost in the region of £20million.'
Danny Welbeck is also thought to be an option, while Wenger must decide whether to approve Lukas Podolski's £11m move to Wolfsburg.
