The Watford striker bagged a brace in last Saturday's 3-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge to take his tally to four goals in six appearances since moving on a month-long agreement last month.

"I want to play games and get more time under my belt," he told Southend's official website. "This is my first taste of League football and it has been great, even if it took me a game of two to find my feet.

"The manager knows the game and there are some experienced players here that I can learn off. If I can carry on learning my trade at Southend United then it will help me grab the attention of the manager back at Watford."

He added: "I've set myself a target of 20 goals for the season. Last year that target was 15 and I managed 16 so I am hoping to break another landmark this time round."
