The Hornets thrashed Leeds 6-1 away from home at the weekend and have now picked up seven points in their last three matches in the Championship.
Gianfranco Zola's side have now moved up to 12th in the table and Almunia is believes a newfound confidence can accelerate their ascent.
"We have proved in the last few games that the team is growing and getting better," he told the club's website.
"We feel more confidence, we feel bigger than before, so to speak, and we have the quality to be in a better position than we already are now.
"We have played recently against some good teams and shown good character, good quality and a desire to win."
