Forestieri was one of a number of loanees to arrive at Vicarage Road over the summer, with Watford's new owners making the most of their ties to other teams.
The promising forward has now penned a long-term contract with the Hornets, with it hoped that he will spearhead a Championship promotion push.
Zola is confident Forestieri will prove to be a shrewd addition, but hopes he will not be the only piece of transfer business to be wrapped up during the winter window.
"I think it is very good for the club," Zola told Sky Sports News HD.
"Obviously I am the manager of this club and I am delighted because Fernando is a good player and he has proven that he can be such an important player.
"I am very happy to have him for a long spell and we are looking forward to working to improve him and the squad."
Zola added: "We are working on another few deals, to make sure this team has got a future. Don't ask me who they are because I'm not going to tell you, but we are working on things."
