Steve Clarke: No complacency at Hawthorns

Steve Clarke: No complacency at Hawthorns

West Brom were third in the table, but a run of three defeats and a draw in the last four games has seen them slide down to seventh ahead of Saturday's match with Norwich.

Clarke is still happy with the overall picture but he wants his squad to build on what they have already achieved this season.

He said: "We're a long way into the season now, approaching halfway, and we're still in a really good place.

"If you'd said we'd be sitting on 27 points the Saturday before Christmas, I think a lot of people would have accepted that.

"We have to make sure that we don't become complacent because we have a good number of points. We have to push the squad and the team and push ourselves forward into an even better position."

The Baggies have not scored in the last three games but Clarke is not worried.

"We haven't spoken about the goal situation. I've got no concerns about this team and group of players scoring goals whatsoever," he said.

"As for our Hawthorns form, we set out at the start of the season to make it a difficult place for opposing teams to come.

"By and large we've done that this season, and we'll look to continue that."
