The Scotland international expressed a desire to move on during the winter transfer window after finding first-team football hard to come by on the back of frustrating injury struggles.

No deal was put in place and Dorrans has gone to become a regular in Steve Clarke's plans over the second half of the season.

He is, however, set to be out of contract in the summer and no extension has been agreed as yet.

Baggies boss Clarke is prepared to play a waiting game, with it up to the player to decide what is best for him and his career.

Clarke told the Birmingham Mail: "He's played a lot of games in the second half of the season, he's done really well and he's happy.

"I will talk to all my players at the end of the season and make sure where they are and let them know where I am.

"His situation hasn't changed from what I said before. His biggest gripe in the first half of the season was that he didn't play enough. The second half of the season, I don't think he can have that complaint. That's where it is.

"We said in January if something came along and it was good for him and the club, we would let him leave. That was where it was left, and that's where it still is, unless we sit down and have another conversation.

"At the time in January, the way it transpired was that it would have been very unlikely that he left anyway because it had to be right for the club and the player. Losing (Zoltan) Gera and (George) Thorne in January more or less made it inevitable that he was staying."

ood lord that's got me unnecessarily excited. Damn you Storey. Cut to Liverpool being crushed under the wheels of Sparky's Stoke Machine and Firmino brought off the bench to no effect. It's the hope that kills you.

think he'll do quite well. My only reservation would be Kagawa, who had similar stats to Firmino in the bundesliga before he came, but time will tell.
